Chesapeake Cats and Dogs Non-profit Animal Rescue located in Queenstown, Maryland. We depend on volunteers, fosters, & donors!

Chesapeake Cats and Dogs is a 501(c)3 no-kill rescue and lifetime haven located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in Queenstown. Our cats are housed primarily in group rooms in our Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary, while our dogs are all in foster homes. We are currently open for adult cat adoptions at our Sanctuary from 12-4pm Friday through Sunday. To adopt a dog or kitten, please apply online and we will schedule a meet and greet if your application is approved.

I’m Harmonica, also known as Momma Monica, the proud mother of the music kittens. I’m a young mom, born in February 2022, and I had my adorable kittens just a year later. Life’s been a bit overwhelming, and I’m still scared and skittish, but I know there’s a special home out there for me.

Meet Poppy the puppy! She is a 1-year-old female Havanese mix. Very sweet, cuddly, eager to please and learn. She does well with other dogs but not with cats. 🐾 Hello, future feline friend!

I’m Dazzle, and I promise to live up to my name with my sparkling personality and charming good looks. I was born in August 2022 and rescued from a feral colony when I showed everyone just how friendly I can be.

Though I’m petite, I’ve enjoyed my time in the group room a bit too much, and I’ve become a little chubby. But that just means there’s more of me to love! I do best with other cats around and must be adopted into a home where I can have a feline friend to keep me company.

Yes, even if your cat is indoor-only, it’s a good idea to get them fixed. Accidents happen, plus being fixed decreases the risk of certain cancers!

We are HIRING! Looking for someone to do morning meds, feeding, and cleaning at our cat sanctuary in Queenstown on weekdays (Monday to Friday, starting around 7am - some flexibility on schedule).

Must be comfortable around cats, responsible/reliable, and able to handle a physically strenuous job (lifting bags of cat litter, for example). We can teach you how to give insulin but you must be okay with using needles.

Dolce and Gabbana are 11-month-old female pit bull mixes who are ready to go home with YOU! We are open to separate homes for them. They are super sweet and playful. They do wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children.

They love to play with rope toys, chase tennis balls, and cuddle. They are housebroken, spayed, and vaccinated. All that’s missing are FURever families!

It isn’t kitten season yet but it’ll be here before we know it! And unfortunately, our kitten foster roster has shrunk. We won’t be able to help many kittens unless YOU give us a helping hand!

We’re Cinnamon and Nutmeg, two young all-black sister born in April 2023, and we’re ready to bring a sprinkle of spice and love into your life! We’re bonded and looking for a forever home together. A nice lady already paid our adoption fee for our future family!

Cinnamon here! I’m a bit shy at first, but with a patient and loving human, I warm up quickly and become quite friendly. I enjoy being petted, and I’m even okay with being picked up—though I’m still getting used to being held. I love other cats and get along great with them.

And I’m Nutmeg! I’m still learning to trust people and appreciate gentle petting. I’ll sniff your hand and accept an occasional pet, especially if you talk to me in a gentle voice. I need someone patient who will give me the time I need to feel comfortable and open up.

Happy 2nd Birthday to our darling boy Figgy! 🎉 You know what he really wants to get for his birthday? A FURever home with YOU!! Figaro is a stunning young white and black male cat, born in May 2022. He is a super sweet and playful boy who loves to fetch his toys when you throw them! He does very well with other cats, especially with Harmonica who is his best friend.
