The HBW team is excited to announce we are starting our VERY popular shelter dog class back up next month!

We will be doing things quite a bit different this year in the hopes of making the class more active for everyone involved! The goal with this new set up is that classes will now be on going vs on 8wk schedule.

If your schedule doesn’t allow you to help now, just submit one when it does!

-Steps to becoming a class volunteer-
1. Submit an application
2. Wait for an email discussing your approval and whether you can start immediately or are being placed on our waitlist, as well as instructions for your next steps
3. Once you are moved off the waitlist, you will meet with trainer Allie at the shelter to meet the dogs you could be assigned to and go over the pre-class foundations
4. After you feel comfortable with the pre-class information you will attend your first class and work one on one with trainer Kaci or another assistant to build foundation skills with you and your assigned dog

Come out and see the hard work these volunteers have put into these amazing adoptable dogs!

You are cordially invited to attend the First Homeward Bound Waggin Shelter Dog Basic Manners Graduation!!!!!! Please join us tonight, Friday, October 25th at 6:00pm.

Come out and watch several of the dogs available for adoption take their final exam and then graduate!! We have a special treat planned as well!!

Due to the number of dogs that are in the class we will be meeting in the previous Victoria Secret's Store front near the Customer Service desk.

So come on out at 6:00pm and cheer on the shelter dogs and the volunteers who have devoted 8 Friday nights learning and working with the dogs to help prepare them for their homes!!!!

Thank you SOOOO much to Rocky’s volunteer trainer who helped prepare him for his life in home! Our Friday night shelter dog class has been a huge success so far and we can’t wait to continue with it in the new year.

Keep an eye open as graduation is coming soon and you definitely don’t want to miss that!

OH HAPPY DAY!!!! 1,068 days!!! Sadly, that is how long Rocky spent in the shelter. He came to us Nov 1, 2021, after adoptions across the country ceased as a result of all of the backyard breeding that took off late 2020. Caught in the system due to no fault of his own he would have most likely been euthanized if not for being a no kill shelter purely due to time. Rocky has definitely been a volunteer favorite. This guy is the funniest, most loving couch potato a person could ever want. He had the opportunity to go on many adventures over those 1,068 days with many volunteers. He was the star pupil at the Shelter Dog Training classes! Rocky will truly be missed by all of us with Homeward Bound Waggin but to finally see him have a home of his own just makes our hearts swell with joy!!!! Happy Tails Rocky!!! Here is to making memories with your very own family!!!
