My Dang Cat

I was so sick yesterday. These two were my nurse cats. Lakewood was especially clingy. He even gave my face a few licks, something he's never done before, as he was by my side almost the entire day. Nothing better than fur babies cuddling with you while your under the weather.

I went outside to take care of my outside kitties just now. As always, Dusty Sue was happy to see me, told me all about it and demanded pets. But then Scaredy Kat showed up. I wouldn't of believed it if I had not seen it. He allowed pets. Not only did he allow pets, he was gladly accepting pets, purring loudly and followed me around. Aha!! I knew there was a good kitty in there. I know I've been excited about petting that cat before, but today was just an amazing show of trust and acceptance. I'm so proud of how far he's come, from standing and watching from afar, to coming close and swatting at me to being friendly and "normal". I know these two would probably not allow others to come near and that's ok. As long as I can, that's what matters.

Pete has healed very well since his surgery. Yay!

I forgot to mention that Pete has gained weight since his last vet visit. He's now 16 pounds. Perhaps the lump added a few ounces to him 😀 joking aside, he's very healthy and his behavior is very good other than that spot. I'm sure he'll be fine after his surgery.
He's been snuggling with his girlfriend tonight.

Pete will have surgery next Friday to remove growth on his head. Then a specimen will be sent out to check if it's cancerous or not. Then he has the privilege of wearing a cone for two weeks.
He's costing me a little money, but I love this guy, so it's worth it.

Sad news.
The trailer park removed the trailer next door and now all the outside cats are gone. I don't know if they were just scared and ran off, if the trailer park did something to the kitties or if they ended up going with the trailer. Last night and this morning I've only seen Mystery kitty.
