Clint has the honor of being the 1st Homeward Bound Waggin dog adopted in 2025!!! This absolutely adorable little guy has a big brother to show him the ropes and teach him to settle down when necessary.

At barely 3.5 months of age Clint was found, none other than, abandoned in a ditch along a country road. We will never know if he was the only puppy abandoned or not, but for Clint his world brightened when he was found.

He is so full of s***k and thinks he is one of big dogs! He also recently graduated from his Basic Manners training class! So he is a scholar as well! The world is your oyster, Clint! Here is to many years of making memories! Happy Tails, Clint!!!

Cosmo and Nova are two of three pups found dumped along a country road. They were skin and bones, full of parasites, had wounds all over indicative of having to fight for their food. We have no idea what the, roughly, first six months of their lives were like. What we do know is that it wasn't easy but they had a will to live.

Cosmo and Nova have the honor of being the last 2 dogs adopted in 2024! They rang in the New Year in their very own fur-ever home!!! We have no doubt they are going to live the life of luxury now. No more going hungry, no more having to search and fight for food, no more eating whatever can be found. From this day forward Cosmo and Nova will know only love and full bellies. From this day forward they will live the life they were meant to live.

Here is to a Happy New Year and to second chances!!!! Happy Tails Cosmo and Nova!!

YOU DID IT!!!! We can’t THANK YOU enough for all you have done for the animals!!!!

To each and every one of you who donated this month, you are saving lives and helping companion animals receive a second chance at life. Your donations make it possible for them to receive veterinary care, a steady supply of critical resources and the TLC to thrive so they can be matched with a loving home of their own.

We can’t think of a better way to wrap up 2024 than not only meeting but exceeding the challenge!! Clearly 2025 is going to be brighter and better for homeless pets in our community!!

Your kindness means the world to the animals and to everyone of us at Homeward Bound Waggin. Thank you so much for being a part of this work and for all you do for the animals!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Is it possible for two Christmas wishes to come true this year? You bet it is! Ducky came in as a young pup, part of an "oops litter". There is no such thing as an "oops litter", please have your pets spayed and neutered! There was something about Ducky, a little extra something special that made him stand out from his littermates. Ducky showed potential of being a service dog. Off he went for the next 18 months to train. He did so well and was ready to officially become a service dog, but he had one last test to pass...... his physical. Hip dysplasia can't be checked until bone growth is completed and having shepherd in him he needed to pass the orthopedic evaluation. Sadly, at 18 months his xray revealed he already showed signs of mild hip dysplasia. His service dog career ended before it officially started. Though he enjoyed his training immensely Ducky was just as happy to settle in and become a loving companion animal. Just in time for Christmas, Ducky's family signed his adoption paperwork and he woke up Christmas morning in his very own fur-ever home! He may not wear a vest that says service dog but Ducky wears the best gift of all.... the love of a family!!! Happy Tails, Ducky!!!!!

It was a Christmas wish come true for Hank!! He was adopted in time to spend Christmas in his fur-ever home. Found, and most likely dumped along the highway near Frankford, MO, Hank made his way to Homeward Bound Waggin. We see and receive so MANY dogs that are dumped to fend for themselves between the ages of 8 - 12 months. Why do you ask? By that point they are large, typically have no manners because no one has worked with them and no longer look like the cute little puppy that stole someone's heart initially. Hank is one of the lucky ones that was not hit by a car, shot or taken to a kill shelter. Found by animal loving people that wanted to ensure he was safe, brought to Homeward Bound Waggin and now in a home he can call his own! Happy Tails Hank!! Here's to Christmas wishes coming true!!!!

We are almost there everyone!! We have 6 days to go and $778 to raise to fulfill the matching challenge. That is $130 a day for the next 6 days. Can we do it???

Just think that $778 matched becomes $1,556 and oh, the companion animals we can help with that!! For example, Houston on Christmas Eve had surgery to remove the mass on the side of his face. after doing a dental xray a hole was found under the gum line in his molar so that tooth had to be extracted and he had several polyps in his ears that had to be lasered out. The cost...... $1,271! Vetting expenses add up fast unfortunately. But, Houston is an amazing cat that deserves to live a healthy, happy life.

And remember, Homeward Bound Waggin is 501(c)3 not for profit so all donations are tax deductible. Let's finish filling that stocking for the animals!!!!
