In light of all that we do and have done rescuing chickens, cats, kittens, dogs and puppies we have gone another direction.

We will not be sunsetting our FB page we will be growing it.

Growing to show that rescue matters.

Right now we are working with a baby kitten that got caught in a fire and we are ever so delicately trying to nurse it back to health.

I believe there is a place on FB for this information.

A place to do more good than harm. A place to save a chickens life because they matter just as much as any other animal. So we won’t be pulling down our page and we hope you stick around for what crazy adventures we end up in.

Moosey is not happy today. He had a little accident doing zoomies and had to get some stitches.

On the plus side the vet said his fur has fully recovered from the abuse. He has put on weight and lots of muscle mass. His demeanor is much better, they didn’t have to give him calming drugs for the kennel or a muzzle. He let a male vet tech walk him.

Our vet was thrilled with the progress made he is no longer the abused victim of a dog that he was when we first got him. He is well rounded self confident and filling out. Way to go 🫎

Rescuing is so dear to my heart I’d do it over and over again to see this healing.

And may 1 million fire ant’s forever attack the crotches of the abusers that choose to abuse helpless animals!

Due to some drastic changes in our personal life from medical issues we have decided to reduce our flock size down to our turkeys and our treasured English Orpingtons.

This is where our true passion lies and where we wish to place our focus.

The remaining birds that we have on premises will simply be egg layers for the farm and we will no longer breed.

We have also made the important farm decision to only sell locally and no longer ship throughout the US.

This is not a decision we made lightly it is one we thought through thoroughly and is in the best interests for our family.

God bless everyone and above all else do what makes you happy!

2 month gotcha day for Moose. This special boy has captured our hearts. He is learning from his sister and the pieces of abuse he suffered are slowly pealing away like layers of an onion revealing the most beautiful heart and soul. His wounds are healing. He is putting on weight and learning new ways to play everyday

We woke to a huge milestone today Moose’s tail has all its fur grown back. It was missing so much fur from being rubbed off and confined to the metal kennel. He had permanent hair removal spots that matched the grates on the cage. No more !!! What a handsome tail on this boy!!!

We want to take a moment and share Moose’s story. He has a story to tell and we feel it is one that ends in joy and there is a reason it should be told. Zeus was an 8 week old Great Dane puppy that was bought as a puppy for a 14 year old girl. The girl was told this is your dog and your responsibility. The parents (adults in the room) were hands off with Zeus. Zeus was bought and lived in a 36 inch high kennel where he remained for the majority of his life until the time that he was 14 months old.
Because the 14 year old would not take proper care of him he remained in this kennel and was brought out occasionally to drink water from a faucet, eat once daily then taken out to potty and returned to the coop; no play time as he was to rough. Zeus had a dog bed, and a plastic tray in his kennel but as Zeus grew up alone with no interaction he played with all he had…he chewed up the bed and the plastic tray. So, Zeus was left in a wire kennel on a hard floor with no padding, no bed, no toys as punishment; except one small tire. The puppy tire was given to him as a toy when he left the breeder’s home.
Zeus developed beds sores all over his body from constantly laying on the metal crate.
As he grew in this crate he was no longer able to stand and fully extend his legs, he could not turn around. This, he could no longer move in the kennel.
In fact he now required a 2XL 54 inch kennel not a 36 inch kennel.
Zeus’ mentality also did not develop as he grew because no one interacted with him or taught him how to play or be a dog. Zeus wasn’t allowed to run outside, there were no zoomies for Zeus; only a tiny cage.
Zeus developed baseball sized lesions on his elbow joints from not being able to move.
His skin has several patches of lost hair due to lack of and poor nutrition. His tail has wired lined permanent markings of hair loss and skin rubbed raw where he could not move in the kennel.
He was beaten with a broom.
Zeus was taken to the vet and the vet immediately contacted the breeder with his concerns.
The breeder in turn contacted the owners demanding video and photos as required per her contract.
She removed Zeus from the home.
We were contacted as she felt our home would be a good environment for Zeus given the fact that we had his sister.
Once we saw the photos and video we knew we had to help this badly abused puppy.
It is after all the core of what we love to do…rescue the needy.
Once I got him in my arms I cried as he leaned into me with his Great Dane lean and looked up and licked my face as if you say thank you. I know you are good.
We changed his name; he is in victim protection now. His name is Moose and all of his nightmares are gone away.
He has been taught how to drink out of a water bowl; which he did not even know how to do. He has his perfect fluffy bed with comfy blanket in his 2XL kennel which allows him to turn around in circles in. He has learned what chew toys, bones, treats, ice cubes, chicken, eggs, kong balls, zoomies, walks on a leash, tug of war, and free access to food is. He has gained three pounds since being here.
Moose is not healed but Moose is one happy puppy right now with his two new sisters and acres of land for zoomies with more toys that he knows what to do with. He loves playing in the water hose and wrestling with his sisters. He is learning to be a dog. He is learning what a true home is.
You never know that you are missing something in your life until he walks through the front door and suddenly you realize he fits like he should have been here all along.
The beautiful part of rescue is he would have died and thank God he was led to us and will be able to live a beautiful full life.

We love you Moose!

Our farm welcomes a new member Moose his name has been changed because he is now in victim protection. He has been rescued from horrific conditions by dreadful owners but God is good and he will live out the rest of his life on the farm in total bliss with his sister Gracie and step sister Roxy. Welcome to a real home big fella, you deserve it!

We had an amazing spring hatch this year and the chicks flew the coop as fast as they hit the brooder. We had several breed varieties that we hatched this year... some new and some old standards.

As with every year we take a step back once the madness dwindles and look at the market to determine what our interest will be for the fall hatching season.

We try to utilize the summer months for selling off extras that don't meet our SOP and start to hatch more babies to keep on the farm.

Thus, why you are seeing availability of pullets and cockerels at this point we are thinning out our flocks.

Fall Season 2023 will focus on:
Our English Orpingtons and all the colors that encompasses
Golden Cuckoo Marans
Silkies in a variety of colors
Jersey Giants (Black and Blue) maybe a few Brahmas
And Working with breeding partners on a few project breeds that we look very forward to undertaking.

We have our turkey babies but they will not be laying this year and who knows what is coming down the road next to our goats - sheep, emu, pigs you never do really know what we will get ourselves into.

Any whoo now is the time to grab up those pullets, cockerels and sub adults they won't last long.

Until next time God Bless everyone!
