Our little gentleman King Malakai won an annual award with the American Cat Fanciers Association! He was awarded 37th best kitten! And 3rd best maine c**n kitten! He will father stunning kittens when the time comes! Please continue to follow along with us as we watch him mature into the most handsome cat!

Calliope hates traveling and she hates shows, this will be her last one. She has accrued 4 ribbons and is considered a Champion! Now she can retire and relax as a beautiful house cat!

Even though he only made one final today, he was able to get third best cat with one of the judges! And he got the last ribbon he needed to be considered a Grand Champion! Congratulations King Malakai Asher Oda!

Malakai did so well today! He ended the day with 3 finals, Best Cat, Second Best Cat, and Seventh Best cat! And with all his champion ribbons he is now a triple champion! He is one champion ribbon away from being a Grand Champion! We sure love our boy!

So, some news on our little Calliope. Back in February she was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitus. FIP is developed when a cats body mutates the Feline Coronavirus. Around 97% of all cats have been exposed to Coronavirus, only a small percentage mutates it to FIP. A few years ago this would have been a death sentence. However, with the development of human coronavirus a medication was developed that helped humans. The medication is called GS441524 or Remdesivir. Some researchers decided to try to use it to help cats with FIP. Over the last few years it has been purchased and used from non government approved companies. This is where we got our meds from. They ended up costing us about $4,000, not including vet visits, blood work, supplies like syringes, and pain meds. The treatment consisted of 6 weeks of injections, at which point we switched to capsules. In total, she was on these meds for 84 days. I am happy to announce that her final blood work came back within normal levels! She is now in her 84 day observation period, at which point she will be considered a FIP survivor! Sadly we will not be able to breed this beautiful girl, but we look forward to being able to love on her for many more years to come.

Also, these meds finally got FDA approval this week and will be legal starting June 1st. So if you have a kitty with FIP, don't give up hope!

We bought the 82" cat tree from Costco. I think it's safe to say the Maine C**ns like it. Not sure how long they will fit in it, but I hope they get good use of it until they don't.
