Pound Pals of Radford, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on helping to place homeless animals in forever loving homes.

We receive no public funds and rely on tax-deductible donations. Instagram: Pound Pals places animals as companions in screened homes to ensure there is a good match between the animal and the family. We request a completed application and a home visit prior to adoption. We are happy to provide any information you need on Pound Pals animals, so feel free to ask.

Marcie got to go on a group walk the other day! She did well with her doggy friend once they both settled. Marcie is able to coexist with other dogs but prefers not to cohabit with them long term.

As an owner of a couple anxious dogs myself, I will share this every year.

Quick PSA: During the Fourth of July holiday, and the days leading it up to it when folks start celebrating with noisy fireworks, scores of pets run away from the sights and sounds, making the day after Independence Day the busiest of the year for animal hospitals and shelters. Please do your due diligence. And if you feel as though your pet may need medication to help them relax during firework season, now is the time to speak with your veterinarian!

Just sharing an update on Bree, who was adopted a couple of years ago. Her parents were in medical school at the time, and, as you can see, she helped with studies and with play. She really lucked out in this home!

UPDATE on itty kitties Chip and Licorice: Sadly, little Licorice did not make it, but brother Chip is thriving, thanks to his foster mom, Rebecca, who has fed him tirelessly since he was 2 days old. Chip has a home identified and Rebecca continues to teach him the ways of the world. Look at him now!

Rex March Madness EXTENDED: Rex gets time out in the sun ♥️ Rex is patiently waiting for a home to call his own. Luckily he is surrounded by amazing volunteers who make sure he knows how much he is loved in the meantime. Rex needs an experienced, active family; he is dog selective so a proper friendship must be established first. Rex was not raised around cats or children so he would need a family without them. Rex is an amazing dog who just needs a family of his own to call his own!! He is Pound Pals longest resident thus far.
