Balanced Veterinary Care is happy to announce that we now offer Solensia for cats. Solensia is a monoclonal antibody that affects nerve growth factor, a major factor in osteoarthritic pain. This new modality can help greatly reduce pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. It is a once monthly injection. If you are interested, please just ask how your cat may benefit from this new treatment!
Thanksgiving is a time for friends, family and holiday feasts—but also a time for possible distress for our animal companions. Pets won’t be so thankful if they munch on undercooked turkey or a pet-unfriendly floral arrangement, or if they stumble upon an unattended alcoholic drink.
I am thankful for all of my clients and their pets and the positive impact you make on my life every day. You all truly make the practice of veterinary medicine a joy for me.
Sometimes, I still need a break though. I will be spending time with family from Wednesday November 23rd until Friday November 25th. I will resume normal appointment hours on Monday November 28th.
Please enjoy this time with your family furry and not! (Though I'll admit sometimes I enjoy the furry family's company a bit more.)

Paws of Honor is an organization here in Virginia working to provide financial assistance with veterinary care for retired service dogs from both military and police assignments.
