Eight months old, this dog is nailing it!
The only thing you can't do when training a dog is rush or force it through maturity; you must wait for the baby to grow up.
While Sevro is doing great at obedience on/off leash, learning and making progress in his deer tracking skills, he is still growing and developing, and we have to wait for time to pass.
This dog and handler team has been a pleasure to work with. They are going to be a great team, for sure.

Maco came to us with extreme stranger danger, not allowing anyone near his handler or home! His training has progressed wonderfully, and he now has solid obedience and trust in his handler that strangers can be welcomed into the home and his personal space. Tay has worked alongside his handler to strengthen communication and confidence between Maco and his Handlers.

A Service Dog is a well-trained dog that does a trained task in line with the Handler's disability.
Gracie is a Service Dog trained in several tasks, including alerting to stress, providing deep pressure therapy to relieve stress and lower blood pressure, and retrieving or picking up items for her handler. Her hours of training show as she confidently moves with her handler in any environment.
While we understand there is no legal standard, Gracie represents the standard of training you will receive here at Blue Cord K9. We were honored to walk with Gracie and her Handler to certification.

Reading a dog's body language is essential in training and helping us work with dogs. While most of their language is universal, not all dogs speak the same way. Jao is showing her teeth, jumping, and showing signs we often see in fearful and aggressive dogs. Pulling back the upper lip is often the final step before a dog bites or snaps. In Jao's case, it is the final step before she comes in for the puppy kiss.
The entire interaction below is positive, and Jao is very happy to see the trainer and the cheese she brought.
It is important to learn the common signs of dog language; it is also important to know that there are exceptions to every rule.

Trainer and Founder Kevin is working with retired Service Dog Jekyll on Barn Hunt. While Jekyll no longer has the drive for Service work, he still has a strong hunt drive, and Barn Hunt is a great outlet for him. While his first attempt at the sport was a failure, training, and persistence allowed the team to grow quickly!

A place cot or fancy place table is not necessary for the place command. It can be an autumn, a dog bed or a spot on the cough.
The Place command gives your K9 a safe place to watch the environment around them without interacting. Your dog can stand, sit, lay down, or even nap, they simply can't leave their designated place. Like all commands, we build up distance, duration, and distractions.
