I would also like to let everyone know that their son Hayden has been accepted to complete this year in the Teen in hand Division for the 2023 Teens and Oregon Mustang Adoption Program.

You can follow his progress and if you like what you see, again unlike me, this guy WILL be up for adoption in September.

This guy will have 100 days of JUST in hand work done, NO riding, and is described as more whoa then go.

Hey everyone!!!!!!

Comanche here, I would like to share exciting news with you all. My trainer Ashley and owner Jess are at it again. They have signed up and we’re accepted to compete in this years, Teens and Oregon Mustang 2023 Mustang Adoption Challenge.

They will get their horse in April and Compete in September. I would love for you all to join her page and watch the progress unfold on their new horse, tag #7551. This horse, unlike myself, WILL be up for auction in September.

I am a couple weeks out from the mustang makeover and enjoying my new home back with my trainer Ashley and owner Jess.

We got to go for a ride tonight around the loop.
The sunset was so pretty and we rode into it.
I am adjusting to my new life and Chico and I are good pasture mates now

He is BIG and he is WILD.

That was what I was told a little over 100 days ago.

What an incredible experience this weekend at the Teens And Oregon Mustangs competition 2022.

I have been a ball of emotions today, especially following the awards.

When I first did this competition in 2020 I had a mare who was a challenge from start to finish. I got hurt pretty bad off of her tossing me and struggled to gain confidence back in the saddle with her which left me feeling defeated and nervous to put myself in another situation where I could get hurt again.

When the opportunity came up to do the challenge again this year, I was hesitant to apply, but was motivated by my husband Jess to do it because “why not, it’s what you love to do I hear you talk about it all of the time”

Proud is an understatement. Proud of this horse, proud of the outcome, proud of myself, and proud to be able to represent Teens and Oregon Mustangs as an Adult Riding Trainer for this year.

As a trainer we put a lot of hard work into our horses when we go into these things, our job is to build up the best foundation we can, to give them the tools they need to be amazing horses and riding companions for someone at the end of our 100 day journey.

I was so humbled this year as we received several compliments from people who showed up to support our journey, people who followed us on our PMR page, and other trainers at the competition.

As Comanche and I sat in the adult line up for our placements we were awarded with;

RESERVE CHAMPION for body conditioning
3rd for experienced Adult Riding showmanship
&
9/15 overall for the Adult Riding Division.

As our number kept getting called I broke down and cried, I am just truly humbled I was able to take this amazing wild gelding a little over 100 days ago, present him this weekend and just smash some goals I set for myself, do things I was scared and nervous to do, push myself further in this competition then I ever through possible. I missed my goal of a belt buckle by 4 placements, but being able to take home this amazing horse at the end of it all and continue his training is more rewarding then anything.
