Any local peeps missing an absolutely stunning male husky? This boy was almost hit by a car Wednesday night, 1/19/23. Luckily, my friend picked him up. He was found near Victory Church, Sunnystone, and Wild Orchid in the very NW corner of Wake County.
Amy's done all the right things with posting, going door to door, Triangle Lost Pet, NextDoor, area shelters, etc. No luck yet.
This boy obviously belongs to somebody. He's very well mannered in the home and he's been very well taken care of.
Almost one third of the pets that come to the Wake County Animal Center are surrendered by their owners because they can’t afford to keep them. That’s why the Wake County Animal Center is partnering to host a series of Community Pet Days to offer low-cost veterinary care, like rabies shots, microchipping and wellness services, along with resources on how to find affordable pet food and supplies.

I had the pleasure of caring for several avian clients this summer and really enjoyed the experience. Birds have been part of my life for decades. Our family has had a large flock of pet chickens for almost 20 years now. It's been a while since I personally owned a parrot, cockatiel, or finch, but my recent pet sits have reminded me of how much I enjoy their company. I recently completed the Pet Sitters International Bird Care and First Aid certification process so that I could be as up to date as possible on bird care best practices, diseases, and first aid.

Any local folks been putting off cleaning out their linen closets? Saving Grace is in desperate need and their Donation Station is available for drop offs 24/7. 1 year ago today, this was the scene in the backyard at Loving Care Pet Sits. This was the "mixers" litter. Grenadine, Club Soda, Tonic, Demerara, Coco Lopez and Curacao born to Momma Seltzer in our home on 9/14/20. Our fostering with Saving Grace Animal Rescue has filled our life with so much laughter and smiles as well as a bit of heartache for the pups our help was not enough to save. If you've ever thought about fostering, Saving Grace makes it so very easy to give it a try. There's a virtual foster orientation taking place tonight (10/25) from 6-7:30 pm. Wouldn't your life be better with a little more puppy breath???

To all our local peeps, looking for something fun to do with the pup on a beautiful fall Sunday? Come on out to Montague Lake on Penny Rd for the annual Dog Training Camp Picnic. Montague Lake is a gorgeous, private park reserved just for this event with lots of room for dogs to run & swim. There's a covered pavilion with bathrooms and picnic tables. 💕🐾
There will be some fundraiser events (raffles, silent auctions, etc) going on to benefit Saving Grace Animals for Adoption. Loving Care Pet Sits will be in attendance and helping out with the Saving Grace information table.

Happy ! National Walk Your Dog Week is a reminder to pet parents that exercise is crucial to a canine’s health. If you and your pup are new to outdoor walks, start with short distances and make it interesting from the dog's perspective (lots of sniffing explorations!). Already regular walkers? Try a new route, go on an adventure to a new location, or invite a neighbor/friend and their pup to join you. Enjoy!
Later this week I'll be pet sitting for a Giant Flemish Bunny. I've cared for rabbits before, but never one that was as big as a dog. I'm so excited! He's absolutely gorgeous, very social and the softest, biggest mound of snuggle fur I've ever encountered!
