Hidden Valley Animal Hospital Hidden Valley Animal Hospital been treating the pets of the community since the early 1980s!! We have one professional pet groomer on staff: Kristen Poole.

In addition to being a full service animal hospital, we also offer grooming services. We also offer routine baths and other grooming services such as nail trims and expression of a**l glands. About our veterinarians:
Dr. Muri Szabo completed his undergraduate education in 1981 at Michigan State University. From there he attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, wher

e he graduated with his DVM in 1985. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since that time. He moved to Raleigh in 1995 and began working at Hidden Valley in 2003. He is currently the lead veterinarian at Hidden Valley. Dr. Amy Valenzisi received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lebanon Valley College in 1993 and a PhD in Plant Physiology from Penn State in 1999. She graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. V became a part of the Hidden Valley Animal Hospital team in 2008. Dr. Meredith Berry graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2001. She received her DVM in 2005 from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Berry originally began working at Hidden Valley in 2000 as a veterinary assistant. When she graduated from vet school she began working at Quail Corners Animal Hospital before coming back over to Hidden Valley in January 2010.

Dr. Soares joined Hidden Valley in 2022! She enjoys meeting new patients and connecting with clients!

Outside of work, Dr. Soares enjoys traveling and supporting the Carolina Hurricanes!! Recently, she has traveled to Greece and Italy with her son. She has one mischievous cat (Squirrel) and one dog (Maggie), who is the most perfect angel ever!! Today we are introducing Dr. Valenzisi to you!!

Dr. Valenzisi joined Hidden Valley in 2008. She loves seeing all of her patients (especially if the patient is a cat!!!) everyday and building relationships with clients!

Outside of work, Dr. V enjoys spending time with her husband and son and reading fiction novels! She has two cats, Willow and Violet, who are both beautiful and angels in their own special way! 💜✨

CHANGE IN HOSPITAL HOURS FOR WINTER WEATHER
Our priority is to make sure our team, clients and patients stay safe, so due to the predicted wintry mix coming later today we have decided to adjust our hours. We will be closing at 4:30pm (Friday) and will be closed tomorrow, Saturday, 1/11.

Today we are introducing assistant Leisha to you all!!

2025 will be Leisha’s third year at Hidden Valley! Leisha joined the team in the kennel and later moved to the assistant team. Leisha enjoys drawing blood and taking radiographs!!

In her free time, Leisha enjoys solving puzzles and going for runs. Puzzles keep her mind sharp and running helps keep her active and healthy!! Leisha has two dogs, Ash and Rocky. If you see Leisha around Hidden Valley,
she enjoys teaching clients is how to properly clean their pets’ ears. It’s rewarding to help ensure pets stay healthy and comfortable.

Today we are introducing our lead assistant Rebecca to you!!

2025 will be Rebecca’s fifth year at Hidden Valley. Rebecca joined the assistant team and later took on being team lead! She is currently in school to become a registered veterinary technician. She enjoys drawing blood and placing IV catheters.

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys collecting houseplants and practice circus arts. She enjoys aerial silks the most. If you see Rebecca around Hidden Valley, she likes to teach clients how to trim their dog’s nails!!

Today we are introducing assistant Anna!

2025 will be Anna’s third year working at Hidden Valley. She began working in the kennel during her time at NC State and then joined the assistant team after graduating! She enjoys learning new skills and packing surgery instruments!

Outside of work, Anna enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her fiancée! Anna has two cats, Mouse and Goblin. If you see Anna around Hidden Valley, she enjoys getting to love on all the feline patients! Monday we will be introducing lead assistant Rebecca!!

Today we are introducing Gabe, who is on our assistant team!!

2025 will be Gabe’s sixth year working at Hidden Valley. Gabe joined the assistant team during his time at NC Sate! He enjoys helping to restrain the big dogs and being on the surgery team!!

Outside of work, Gabe enjoys going to the gym and spending time with his fiancée. Gabe does not currently have any pets, but one day wants a cat! If you see Gabe around Hidden Valley, he enjoys getting to know all of our patients and doing laser treatments!! Tomorrow we will be introducing assistant Anna!

Keeping your pet active during the colder months can be tricky, but maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for their overall wellness. ​

For our dog patients, we recommend indoor tug-of-war, indoor fetch, and interactive toys. ​

For our cat patients, additional cardboard boxes never hurt – along with laser pointers, birdwatch stations, and interactive toys. ​

As we enter into the New Year, we thought it would be a great time to introduce our staff to you all! Throughout January, we will introduce a different member of our staff to you each day. Up first is one of our assistants, Ashley!

2025 will be Ashley’s fifth year with Hidden Valley. She joined the team in the kennel, but later moved to the assistant team. She is currently in school to become a registered veterinary technician. She loves drawing blood and placing IV catheters!!

Outside of work, she routinely fosters puppies through Saving Grace NC. She currently has six dogs of her own. Dog sports are one of her favorite activities to keep all of her dogs active and healthy. Two of her dogs are members of the Carolina DockDogs. If you see Ashley around Hidden Valley, she loves teaching clients about canine enrichment and training!! Tomorrow we will introduce assistant Gabe to you!!
