ing foster homes, and adopt them out to forever homes, as well as strengthen our communities’ education, laws and regulations regarding animal overpopulation and care.
“Neshama” means “soul” in Hebrew - our goal is to do soulful work and save as many souls as possible.

Welcome to the M kittens! These guys are about 5-6 weeks old and were clearly taken care of by a mother because they are healthy babies. We wish people would wait to get the mom if they are going to bring kittens to the shelter 😿 1 girl (light orange one) and 3 boys! They are available to foster two or four together, but we will not be separating them Individually until we can better assess them to see who needs to stay together. ✨✨FRANZ IS ADOPTED✨✨ So many of you met him, so many of you fell in love with him, but no one applied for him 💔 Until a foster came forward who needed a dog who was good with kids- this is the guy! He joined carpool duty, matched their emotions when they didn’t get what they wanted, and found his forever fam. Mazel tov to Elizabeth and her family on getting the very best dog ever. We love and will miss you, Franz!
Had a good vet visit for Magnifico the Tux and Nova. Both were re-checks to check for improvements in the health: Nova’s dry eyes and Magnifico because he still won’t eat. 😿 NOVA: we found out that she can’t close her eyes completely when she blinks, so this explains why part of her eyeball is very dry and crusty, even with twice daily drops and lubricant. So we got her on a stronger eye med, but she’ll need it for the rest of her life. MAGNIFICO: no FIV or FELV, nothing remarkable in bloodwork, no lymphoma seen when cell sample was taken. So we got him on a steroid and a much stronger antibiotic and hopefully that will get him eating! He’d lost almost a whole pound from last visit 💔 Please support our necessary veterinary visits by contributing an amount monthly. They deserve it!
🖤🤍Lelu is now up to date on vaccines, spayed and ready for adoption! This gorgeous fluff has to be an only cat and would love to be your forever princess cat. She is a beautiful and sweet companion!🖤🤍

We have 27 (!) kittens in the rescue under 5 months old. We get asked literally every day (often multiple times a day) to take in more and we can only keep doing that if we have people willing to foster these sweet cuties.

🖤IN NEED OF EXPERIENCED BUNNY FOSTER! 🤍Someone dumped their domesticated bunny in the yard of one of our compassionate fosters. She has dogs and cats and is not equipped to foster this bun, but we need an experienced bunny person for this gorgeous baby! Super Nova got her eyes checked out today at our vet and she can see light and shadows! We are putting many drops of different medicines in her eyes, which were matted open for who knows how long, and it is the one thing that remains from her years of neglect. Her spirit is bright, her appetite is normal and she’s ready to be snuggled full time! See pic in the comments of the day we got her, not even a week ago!
This is Breyer and her sister, Patch. They came from a hoarding case where their mama died, so they are not socialized and are terrified currently. We will get them into a loving foster home who is going to work on their fear, and we will be getting them spayed and up to date on shots as of tomorrow! We hope to see them blossom, as we all do, with love. ❤️

So thankful to the many people who coordinated to make it possible 🐾🙏🏽 Thank you to all who stood up to save these 7, though we had to leave many behind for potential euthanasia. Goldfish's stay at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine & Veterinary Hospital took a little bit longer than we hoped, but he is now back home and resting comfortably with his foster family.
His total veterinary bill came to $3,349.42. Thanks to the generosity of our donors including his foster parents and Rocky's Bridge, Inc. we are only $530 away from fully covering his surgery!

Today was one of the worst things we have seen to date. Turned into a shelter partner by her *OWNERS* who said she was a stray (her microchip leads to them), she is now permanently blind from HER EYES BEING MATTED OPEN. The shelter gingerly shaved around her eyes to see if she could see after that, but not blinking for who knows how long has left her blind. We rushed her to our kind groomer who took her on and relieved her of her misery - this was nothing short of a true mitzvah. Now Nova (meaning “new”) or SuperNova, is resting after a very weird day. We appreciate the outpouring of love for her. It has had a heavy affect on us. as rescuers, and we need some time to really heal and she will need that time as well. This is a small *very small* sampling of the emails we get BEGGING us to take kittens or cats who are found around people’s homes or workplaces. We cannot take them unless we have 1. Foster homes, 2. Donations for their vetting. We do not want to discourage people from helping strays by saying “no we can’t help”, so we need more resources for when folks ask us for help, we can do it. When we help community kittens or cats, we are curbing the overpopulation problem head on and THAT is a critical part of our mission! Help us achieve our goals of a non-overpopulated community! 🐾🐾🐾
The image attached shows our Facebook audience by gender. Is this why one of the most common refrains we hear from women is "My husband would never allow us to foster/adopt/add another dog/cat"? Maybe if more men followed us, and other rescues, and saw the terrible COMMUNITY problem that exists, they wouldn't always be saying NO. Men are a part of the problem, so they should be a part of the solution too 🐾 We challenge y'all to get more men in your lives to "Follow" us on here so they can be educated!
This is Pancho. He is 12. His mom had been living in their car for 2.5 years because she couldn’t take him to the women’s shelter with her but she hit her max today and had to surrender him. He is terrified and lost. We couldn’t pull him because we have no one to foster him. 🐾Unless you do? 🐾He is loving but terrified in this setting. He was living with another dog so we know he is good with dogs, but will need a place to decompress and feel love again. PLEASE. 🐾

This is Chester, the sweet boy we pulled from our shelter friends in Burlington this week. He is currently on a road trip to visit Georgia, but will be back in NC this weekend to be seen at the Adoption Event at Pet Supplies Plus in Cary! He is laid back, extremely grateful for every pet and smooch, and is chill around other dogs. He has to have a tumor removed, a dental and a neuter to be ready fully for adoption, but trust us you want this sweet boy in your home. His gratitude is palpable! Where are our lab lovers!! Flint is an 8 month old sweet as pie boy! His fosters saved him as he was running in the middle of the road and was almost hit 🥺♥️ Flint walks nicely on a leash, does well in his crate and is potty trained. He does well with other dogs and people. Not sure about cats. All the staff at our vet fell in love with him! He is up to day on shots and microchipped ! He will be neutered soon! Apply today!
