Dear residents of the City of Raleigh, City of Holly Springs, and City of Garner,
Why don’t you support TNR (trap-neuter-return) of feral cats? Do you understand what the purpose is for TNR? It’s to keep them from making more kittens after more kittens after more kittens. And it is also to have them get at least one rabies vaccine in them to protect them AND us. Don’t like cats chasing your birds? TNR them so they can’t procreate and the numbers will steadily decrease as they age out. Don’t like cats at all? TNR them so they can’t procreate and the numbers will steadily decrease as they age out. Love cats? TNR them so they don’t have to suffer through heat cycles and (literally) fight off all the males trying to force them to mate. TNR is a PRO-ACTIVE solution to a problem created by humans. That’s right.... WE CREATED THE FERAL CAT PROBLEM. Euthanasia isn’t the answer. Healthy adult females can have several litters a year, with as many as 9/10 kittens in them. Yes, a lot of them die due to predation, illness, humans, etc. But they will always produce more than we can catch and euthanize. TNR stops the life cycle. And this is a good thing for everyone, including the cats. So come on, citizens... do a little research. Tell your city councils you want TNR so those of us who are ready can step in and help EVERYONE. Neshama has a Feral Program and we are actively TNRing cat friends all the time. It is a crucial part of helping cats not die from shelter euthanasia. See a cat? Check for a tipped ear, like our buddy Furioso here! Not tipped? Get the cat/trap the cat/ask for help and GET THEM FIXED. Ask our friends at and to get them fixed! Be a part of the solution, folks.
