Just wanted to give everyone an update on our grooming schedule.

We've reached out to those clients whose appointment was cancelled while we were closed to reschedule and are now taking new appointments. We're still short staffed and appointments are backed up as a result. But, we have a few slots left the 2nd week of May and limited availability after May 18th. May is booking up quickly. If you want to get on the schedule, it's better to call sooner rather than later.

Due to the increased demand for appointments, we are asking that customers please give us at least 24 business hours notice for cancellations. This gives us time to work another dog into that slot as we have quite a long list of folks wanting to get in sooner, if possible. Our groomers also work on commission and rely on dogs showing up to help support their families. If a dog doesn't show up and we can't get anyone else into that time slot, that's lost income for the groomer that day.

It's been great to get back to work and see so many happy, wagging tongues and tails. We hope that all of our customers are staying safe and look forward to the time we're able to reopen our doors and get back to business as usual. Until then, thank you for trusting us with your pets while we do our part to provide a valuable service in the safest manner possible.

Thanks to everyone for being so patient these past few days. We are working hard to reschedule missed appointments as soon as we can and open up room for new appointments as well. (Once Frazier stops laying on the schedule and distracting us with his handsome haircut, that is. 😍) We still have 1 groomer out and are juggling appointments as best we can while still making sure your dog gets the time and attention they need without being rushed.

Again, thank you all for your years of continued support. We are beyond grateful and happy to be open again to meet the needs of our clients. We really have missed seeing so many happy faces, smiles and wagging tails. β™₯️🐾

Tired of hiding out in the house, not because of the quarantine, but because your coiffure needs a major overhaul?? We've got great news!!

πŸ“£ We will be reopening on Monday the 20th. Hooray!! πŸ“£

So, here's what you need to know.

Grooming:

🐾 Drop offs and pick ups will be the same as they were before we shut down. Customers won't be allowed in the salon out of safety consideration for our customers and employees. Please use the front entrance only and call when you arrive. Someone will come out to check your dog in.

🐾 We are booked for appointments on Monday. We will be calling everyone who already has an appointment on the books to confirm. We will also be calling those whose appointments were cancelled due to the shut down to reschedule.

🐾 Our appointment slots will be limited due to staff shortages. Not all employees are able to safely return at this time.

🐾 If you would like to make an appointment, please call. For the safety of everyone involved, please don't try to come in person to make an appointment. This includes nail trims which are usually walk in. We have to make sure someone is available to do nail trims and reduce waiting times.

🐾 Please be patient with us as we try to catch up. The first few days are going to be extremely busy and it may take a few tries, but we do want to hear from you.

Boarding:

🐾 The kennel will be reopening on May 1st.

🐾 All dogs checking in for boarding must get a bath (by our staff) prior to coming into the kennel.

🐾 Personal pet items must be able to be washed and cleaned prior to entering the kennel. Oversized dog beds without removable covers or items that can't be appropriately cleaned won't be accepted when your dog checks in.

For more information:

🐾 Please feel free to call us at 919-876-9538 with any specific questions.

🐾 We are located in NE Raleigh at 8320 Litchford Rd, Suite 118.

We are anxious to get back to work and see our furry friends again!!

Update: We are still open for business.

With 40+ years of experience, we are well aware that proper grooming is not just about looking good, it's about keeping your dog's skin, coat and overall condition healthy. Matted and dirty hair can lead to skin irritation, itchiness, redness and infection if it gets too bad. Dirty ears can also lead to yeast and bacterial infection. Dogs in discomfort due to skin and coat issues can also display behavioral problems. It's always our goal to help you keep your pets in the best shape possible. We are also here for boarding should you need someone to care for them when you can't.

We are taking extra steps during this uncertain time to ensure a clean environment for customers and their pets.

For our customers that are at high risk to exposure to COVID-19, immunocompromised, or have health issues that are preventing you from getting your dogs in for their regular appointments, please contact us. We will do what we can to help you keep your appointments.

Just a reminder that we also offer pet sitting services. This is done on a limited basis as we are a small business with a small staff, but will try to accommodate your needs if we are able. Our kennel manager sometimes takes our long term boarding dogs for outings to give them a break from the kennel. If your dogs need some exercise, but you aren't able to get them out, call us and we'll see what we can do to help.

Please contact us if you have any questions. While nothing is "business as usual" right now, we'll do our best to continue to support you and your pets in the safest manner possible.

Thank you for your many years of continued support,

Susan and the rest of the staff at Canine Country Club and Pet Hotel

Miss Pearl says creating rosters and schedules is exhausting work. We have limited space left for July and are filling up for Labor Day weekend. Be sure to get your reservations in as early as possible.

All the pups have been walked and are safely tucked in for the night. Dogs with thunder/fireworks sensitivities have their Thundershirts on and have been given any remedies their owners left with us to help them.

We hope that everyone (people and pets alike) has a safe and happy holiday.

Jay is looking for a new home. She is an 8-9 year old Pomeranian who is healthy, but when she was younger, had a hip injury. She had a FHO done where they shave part of the femoral head down to prevent pain and arthritis issues as they get older. She is fully active, but has to be careful when running around that she doesn’t slip and knock her hip out of joint.

She LOVES playing fetch and running after her 'Squeaka' toy. She has fun playing out in the yard and exploring. Being outside is her favorite place to be whether it is just sitting and watching people go by or enjoying the sun in her fur. She doesn’t mind being picked up, but is not a fan of being carried around. She is an independent, older lady. She will tolerate other dogs that leave her alone to an extent, but really needs to be the only dog in the house. She is not a fan of young kids pawing at her. We don’t know how she is with cats.

If you or someone you know is able to provide her a loving forever home with no other dogs or young children and suitable flooring, please contact Melissa at [email protected]. Jay is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She is HW negative. She does test positive for Ehrlichia, but has been through the Doxy protocol. She will always test positive, but it does not affect her health. There is a $200 rehoming to cover the cost of her spay, dental cleaning, and updated vaccines. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
