Welcoming the Year of the Rabbit, a year of hope, tranquility, and prosperity.
I know I can use some of that.
Recipe for dog-safe latkes. Treat your pups to only the best.
Recipe courtesy of Chef Mark Ehrler.
Latke Treats
9 sweet potatoes, peeled and grated
1/3 c. honey
3 Tbs. grated ginger
2 Tbs. oil
1 tsp. ground cardamom
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
In a large bowl, toss together the sweet potatoes, honey, ginger, oil, cardamom, and pepper.
Transfer to a large cast iron frying pan.
Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
Stir the potatoes to expose the pieces from the bottom of the pan.
Bake for another 20 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and caramelized on the outside.
* Note: This recipe is for treats and not intended for daily consumption. Additionally, this should not be fed to pets with special dietary restrictions.

The brown puppy is a little girl, and her brother (almost half her size) is a boy. You might notice he’s missing a front paw - he appears to have been born this way. We just can’t decide on names that do them justice! Help us out in the comments ❤️

Hi Bakers,
We’ve taken time to rest and finally got back to looking at the donation tracker and we’ve collectively raised $1,859,234.08! Congrats for participating in (unofficially) the worlds biggest bake sale!
We have closed the donation tracker but that doesn’t mean that you should stop baking!
We’ve also made all of the supporting documents accessible on our website so you can keep hosting bake sales in your local communities.
In the coming days we will be providing a country by country breakout of donations and organizations you all donated to. Please have patience, as this is a labor of love that is super data intensive and i’m just one person working on it part time.
For the future, Rob, Willa and I will be working to hopefully be hosting another virtual bake sale. We’ve learned so much from this massive outpouring of love and support over these past few weeks. We’ve also received a ton of nice (and not so nice) constructive criticism about how we can make it better in the future.
We might not know when and how the next activation will occur or look like in a world that is constantly changing, but stay tuned and sign up for our email list (on the BAR Website) to keep up with the latest news and updates.
You should all feel proud to have taken a stand for Black lives. But this bake sale isn’t the end - it’s just the beginning. Let’s build off of this momentum and continue to fight and change our communities, one cake at a time.
