SAFE Haven is Raleigh’s No Kill shelter and the only one exclusively for cats and kittens. SAFE Haven is a limited-access shelter; as one cat or kitten is adopted, another is rescued. While waiting for a space, cats are placed on a waiting list. The average length of stay for a cat at the shelter is 8 weeks. All cats adopted from SAFE Haven are sterilized prior to adoption and can never reproduce
We believe...
Every cat has value and deserves a chance for a permanent home. You should only euthanize cats that are too ill or injured to recover. Unless a cat can't recover we consider it adoptable and will work hard to find a home for it and always do! If euthanasia is necessary it is by lethal injection only. In Trap/Neuter/Return and committed through our own low cost spay and neuter clinic to sterilizing as many feral as well as stray cats and personal pets in our community as we can. In treating all cats in our shelter and make decisions for them the same way we do our own personal pets at home. No time limits are imposed on the process of restoring a cat or kitten to well being.

Hi! I’m Curious Georgina! Yes, that curious. If there’s a noise, a shadow, a shoelace, or a mysterious crumb on the floor, I will investigate immediately. It’s kind of my thing.
I’m a kitten, which means my days are filled with very important work: pouncing on nothing, racing down hallways, climbing things I probably shouldn’t, and then falling asleep in the cutest possible position. I’m brave, bouncy, and always ready to learn about the world, preferably with you right next to me.
I love toys, warm laps (once I’m done exploring), and humans who laugh when I do something silly instead of asking, “How did you even get up there?” I promise to grow into a wonderful cat, but right now I specialize in joy, mischief, and tiny squeaky meows.
If you’re looking for a little explorer to brighten your days and keep your life interesting, I think we might be meant for each other.
⏳ We’re running out of time, and so are the cats who need us most.
Your tax-deductible year-end gift is MATCHED up to $100,000, doubling the lifesaving care you provide. Please give today: https://www.safehavenforcats.org/donate/
