Yesterday Dolly and I had a blast at the See A Vet, Be A Vet event hosted by . Dolly and I are a certified therapy dog team, so we get invited to participate in events like this. Dolly was such a good girl and let ALL the little kids pet her, snuggle her, and listen to her heartbeat with their very own stethoscopes! The Vet School students were so knowledgeable, kind, and patient with all the children. Really sweet way to spend our Saturday afternoon. 🥰💜🐶

Heavy hearts at ABF. 💔 Today my parents had to say goodbye to one of our family dogs after 14.5 years of the most loving loyalty. Bella came into our lives a couple months after my mom returned home from her stem cell transplant. She was exactly what the doctor ordered… love, laughter, s***k, sass, and an unparalleled zest to live life to the fullest. Although small, weighing in at ten pounds, her presence was mighty! She ruled the house, was the boss of all the big dogs, and she brightened the day of any and everyone she ever met. She never knew a stranger and greeted everyone as an equal; she exemplified exactly what we need more of in this world. Although I know these days come better than anyone, as we become a part of all of the families we work with through the love and care of their beloved furry friends and we endure this pain regularly, it never gets easier. Rest easy and fly high little angel, you’ve got quite a squad waiting to greet you at the rainbow bridge! 💜🌈🐶If you know my parents, please lift them up in your thoughts and prayers. Life is a little less bright today, but her little light will shine on in all the special memories! We love you forever, baby Bella!

Over the Summer, Dolly and I took several months to become an officially certified Therapy Dog team through . We visited stores, restaurants, a retirement community, a school, a memory care unit, and a hospice facility to prepare for environments we might get asked to visit. Dolly adapted beautifully and passed with flying colors. Today was our official first day on “the job” and it was such a joy to visit the students business school for their student wellness week. Talk about life coming full circle… Go Pack! Yes, they asked us to come in costume. And yes, Dolly Dalí is quite the artiste! 😂🐶👩‍🎨🎨 (No Dolly’s were harmed in the making of these photos. She willingly and happily wore the beret all afternoon! 🤌)

Yippee! Dolly is 3! Every day is happier and funnier because of this dog park lovin, copilot ridin, puddle rollin, forceful snugglin, pet demandin, baby carryin, ball fetchin, cutie pie of a dog! She loves with reckless abandon and is always down for an adventure. This year was a big year for Dolly, as she became a Certified Therapy Dog and she takes her work very seriously. So lucky to have this floof keeping us on our toes! Happy Birthday lil PupPup, we love you! 💜🐶

Yesterday morning when I took the dogs out, I kept hearing crying— turn the volume up on the video for a listen. I knew something needed help, but with the heavy rain I couldn’t properly follow and track the sound. For hours, every time the rainfall eased up I went out in the yard searching. Finally, I found not one, but three little baby squirrels who had been washed out of their nest. Luckily they were close together, so I piled them up and went to get a container. They were freezing cold and hungry; I warmed them up and gave them some warm milk from a syringe. Once I made sure all three were stable, I took them to the emergency vet who does intake for wildlife rehab. They said they’ll be just fine and once old enough will be released close to where I found them. I totally wanted to rehab them myself, but the household huntresses I live with thought I was preparing their next tasty snack. 😂🐶🐶💜🐿️🐿️🐿️

Fun fact… the Summer Solstice, the first day of Summer, is typically June 21st… however on Leap Years the dates change, bringing it a day earlier to June 20th. So every four years, I get to celebrate my birthday on the longest, most sun-shiniest day of the year! Here are my ten favorite pet pics from the past year. Happy 5th Birthday to the queen, my copilot, the one who appreciates nature the most. The ball and frisbee connoisseur, my ride or die, the one who goes along with all of my silly antics, my best friend, protector, and the most patient and loving dog ever! I’m not sure how I would have made it through the last 4.5 years without you, but I sure am glad I didn’t have to find out! Nala, you truly are the best friend I could have ever asked for! The past year has been so much fun; I can’t wait for this year’s adventurers that lie ahead. So much love, baby girl!

Yesterday I saw this double rainbow as I was driving home from tending to a dog. The two ends of one side of the rainbow land on . I sat there in awe as my eyes filled with tears. It is true… there is a rainbow bridge that all of the pets cross at the end of their lives. How symbolic and how beautiful?! I am eternally grateful for all of the love and care my pets have received from the incredible Doctors and staff at all of the Care First facilities. Thank you for all y’all do! 🌈💜🐶😺
