Family owned Christmas Tree Farm founded by Frank Barick after he retired from the N.C Wildlife Resources Commission. Frank held a Masters Degree from University of NY School of Forestry at Syracuse. Due to Frank's declining health and the passing of his son, Bruce, who lived and worked on the farm, it hadn't been replanted since 2009, until 2017. In 2014, Frank's other son, Brad, retired and move
d from Wisconsin to NC primarily to oversee his father's care, as well as get the neglected tree fields and farm back in shape. Brad worked hard to get the remaining Christmas trees sheared and clear the fields. It was Frank's desire that Brad would allow his legacy to live on after he passed. Frank wanted the many loyal families, for whom coming to Back Achers' Tree farm was a large part of their Christmas tradition to have the opportunity to continue doing so. Since 2017, Brad has planted over 4000 trees including Carolina Sapphires, Leyland Cypress, Green Giant ArborVitae, White Pines, Virginia Pines, and Cedars. He's already ordered a variety of over 2000 more trees to plant in early 2021. Additionally, none of our field trees are ever sprayed with insecticides or other chemicals. In addition to field trees, we provide the freshest A+ rated Fraser Firs shipped to us from the mountains within 2 days of being cut. We receive several shipments, so they will always be freshly cut trees available. If you have a request for an especially tall tree, please call Brad, and he'll see if he can get one shipped down. We put all our trees on a shaking machine to rid them of any leaves that may have blown into them or possible loose needles. We will also wrap your tree in netting which makes it much easier to get into your vehicle as well as into your home. We also carry fresh wreaths, garland, tree stands and long watering funnels. Frank was ushered into Heaven on Father's Day 2017 at the age of 98. He passed in his home on his farm, in his sleep without pain, with Brad by his side, just as he had hoped. He cherished the many families he's met through the years providing their trees. He is missed, was greatly admired and loved and will never be forgotten.
