Introducing a new pet to your home can be an exciting yet challenging experience, especially if you already have other furry family members. At Ansede Animal Hospital, we understand the importance of a harmonious household, and our veterinarians are here to guide you through the process of introducing pets to each other.

Start by setting up a controlled environment. Allow your new pet to explore a designated area in your home where the other pets can smell and hear them without immediate interaction. This creates a sense of familiarity and reduces anxiety. Gradually introduce the pets in short, supervised sessions. Always keep safety in mind; use leashes or crates if necessary.

Monitor their behavior closely during the initial introductions. Look for signs of stress or aggression, such as growling, hissing, or excessive barking. It's normal for pets to be curious and even a bit cautious, so patience is key. Reward positive interactions with treats and praise, reinforcing good behavior.

Remember, every pet is unique and may take different amounts of time to adjust. If you're ever unsure or need assistance, our team is here to help! With the right approach and veterinary guidance, your pets can build a loving and playful relationship. Contact us today to learn more about managing pet introductions and ensuring a smooth transition for your new family member!

Did you know that ticks are not just a nuisance but can also transmit serious diseases to pets? In NC, ticks thrive in our lush landscapes, making it crucial to stay vigilant!

Here are some quick tips to help protect your pets:

1. Regular Checks: After walks or outdoor playtime, check your pet for ticks, especially in warm, hidden areas like the ears, armpits, and between toes.

2. Preventative Treatments: Consult your veterinarian about the best tick prevention methods for your pets, whether it's topical treatments, collars, or oral medications.

3. Yard Maintenance: Keep your yard tidy! Trim grass, clear debris, and create barriers to reduce tick habitats in your outdoor space.

4.Quick Action: If you find a tick on your pet, remove it carefully with tweezers and consult your vet for advice on monitoring for any symptoms.

Together, we can keep our pets safe and healthy this season! For more tips and information, reach out to us or visit our website.

Our Story

We have been servicing the Raleigh- Garner community since 2002. A family owned and operated business, we strive to keep connection to our clients on a more intimate level. You won’t see a new doctor every time you visit. We know what your pet relationship is to you. We also know you have priorities and sometimes life gets in the way with the optimum pet care. We are pet owners too. We will work with you, if you will work with us to help give your pet the medical care it needs so you can enjoy each other for a long time.

We also reject cold, corporate business dynamics that you may have experienced with other clinics in the area. While it may be understandable from an efficiency standpoint to follow rigid protocols and procedures, we feel it takes away from the art of medicine. Simply put, pets are not automobiles. They don’t have alogrithms. They don’t have instruction manuals and we won’t treat your pet like a model unit of an autoparts store.

We look forward to building your trust, if you are willing to give us a try.

Sincerely,
