SPCA of Wake County - K9 Crew To highlight dogs available for adoption at the SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh, NC - especially those that are long timers.

The K9 Crew, an initiative of the SPCA of Wake County's Behavior Team, is a group of trained volunteers that focus on highlighting some of the dogs who linger at the SPCA. The K9 Crew was first called the "Pit Crew" and originated to repair and rebuild the reputation of the American Pit Bull Terrier in our community. That work will continue as we move forward as the K9 Crew.

Reuben was transferred to us from Harnett County Animal Shelter, and now he’s dreaming of his forever home where he can shower his humans with endless love and loyalty. He’s truly the kind of dog who will brighten your days just by being himself. 🌟

Reuben has been diagnosed with heartworm disease, but don’t worry—he’ll begin treatment soon, and our adoption specialists can answer all your questions.

Meet Antler! 🐾 I’m a 6‑month‑old pup with the sweetest personality and tons of puppy energy. I adore playing with other furry friends and can’t wait to learn all the big‑dog things—like obedience, potty training, and what’s okay (and not okay!) to chew.

I’m about 25 lbs right now and will likely grow to around 45–50 lbs. With patience and love, I promise to be a quick learner and fill your home with happiness. 💛
