SPCA of Wake County - K9 Crew To highlight dogs available for adoption at the SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh, NC - especially those that are long timers.

The K9 Crew, an initiative of the SPCA of Wake County's Behavior Team, is a group of trained volunteers that focus on highlighting some of the dogs who linger at the SPCA. The K9 Crew was first called the "Pit Crew" and originated to repair and rebuild the reputation of the American Pit Bull Terrier in our community. That work will continue as we move forward as the K9 Crew.

Meet Frankie—a 5-year-old bundle of charm, fun, and love! This handsome guy absolutely adores sniffing around, playing, being silly, and soaking up all the attention from his humans. After a good romp, Frankie settles down and is the perfect cuddle companion. At around 50 lbs, he’s fully grown and ready to be your new best friend.

Frankie came to us via PAWNC Rescue after being found as a stray, but he’s so ready for a forever home full of belly rubs and treats.

At first, I can be a little shy when I meet new people or go to new places. But if you give me some time (and maybe a little cheese!), I’ll soon be your snuggly buddy. I like to say hello when I’m ready — that helps me feel safe. ❤️

Sammie is an 8-year-old sweetheart with a heart full of love and a laidback personality. He’s gentle, easygoing, and the perfect match for first-time dog owners or anyone looking for a calm, cuddly companion. Sammie adores kids of all ages, gets along well with other dogs and cats, and absolutely loves treats—he even does a happy “toe-tap dance” when snacks are nearby!

This sunshine-loving pup enjoys sunbathing, snuggling, and just being close to his people.
