This morning we are distributing pet food and litter through our No Empty Bowl program. In 2024 we spent $50,000 to purchase pet food to support local families to help them keep their pets. 3,250 pets benefitted from this program. We distribute on the third Saturday of every month from 11-12 at Open Door Church in NE Raleigh. https://www.friendsofwakeanimals.org/no-empty-bowl-project
We rely on your donations to run this program that helps keep animals out of the shelter and in good homes. If you can help please donate at https://www.friendsofwakeanimals.org/donate.
Thank you to the volunteers braving a chilly, cloudy morning to help.

Todays Senior Sunday Pet is a Super Senior. Frankie is 13-15 years old, it’s a guess because he was a stray who found himself in a shelter instead of being in a loving Senior retirement home.
That is until our friends at Doxie By Proxy Rescue, Inc. brought him into the safety of their rescue.
He went into a foster home and on to what was thought to be his forever home. But, he was recently returned by his adopter when his more senior ways no longer fit her schedule.
This sweet boy has senior challenges, and will need the right home that understands and can accept the additional work needed to care for Frankie. Frankie will repay you with his undying senior love. Senior love is different; it’s deeper and knows to love harder because time is limited.
Please read Frankie’s whole story at https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15Vig1d5Kz/
Apply to adopt Frankie at www.doxiebyproxy.org/application
Frankie is NOT at the Wake County Animal Center
Winks just became available for adoption and simply could not wait until Halloween to show off his new costume!
He has to have his eye removed, but has been recovering in foster and is the sweetest, silliest boy! He is dog friendly, well mannered, and very smart. He is already crate and potty trained! What he lacks in eyes, he makes up for in heart and personality. He is adjusting beautifully since his procedure. Read more about him in his bio! And if you may be interested in adopting him, email his foster at [email protected]
