It's well known that dogs pant all the time, but did you know cats pant too? Although dogs and cats exhibit the same behavior, it can be for different reasons. Panting in cats can be a medical emergency, you should seek veterinary care if your cat has sudden onset of panting with no obvious cause, they are panting with other symptoms such as pale gums/coughing/collapse, they are excessively panting and seem to be in distress, or if they are panting/yowling in the litter box. Please reach out to your Vet if you have any concerns about your feline companion!
