Sweet Harvey has come a long way in only a short time.
He loves pets and the company of his humans.
Harvey is FIV positive.
Many people shy away from that but other cats could only catch the autoimmune disease if it was transmitted into their bloodstream, for example, by fighting and biting each other.
Harvey is very shy at first and it will take a few days for him to warm up to you but once he does, you are his best friend for life!
Harvey has been, and does well around laid back and friendly cats and dogs.
Due to his sensitive immune system Harvey needs to be an indoor cat.
HHA will NOT declaw cats or adopt to home that will consider such a heinous practice.
Harvey is vaccinated neutered microchipped and litter box trained.

HHA received an urgent plea just moments ago from one of our longtime followers and supporters .
She needs help from our community.
Her uncle died in Georgia unexpectedly. He had 2 full breed boxers. A 4 yr old neutered male and a 8-10 month old female. Unknown if she is spayed. A family member drove to GA to find a rescue or no kill shelter.
They have been trying for a week to find someone in GA to take them because so far, family in Nebraska already have too many dogs or dogs that don’t get along with other dogs. He needs to come back home this weekend. They can’t find any vet paperwork for them but
*Helping Hand for Animals will update vaccinations and spay the female if needed.*
Right now he has no idea where to keep them once he gets home with them. He can’t just leave them there in GA to fend for themselves.
They have no idea if they get along with other dogs or cats or kids
They know that they lived with a macaw at one time.
Are there any boxers lovers out there who could help???
Southern shelters and rescues are full due to the hurricanes this year.
Northern shelters are full because of owner surrenders
It's a rock and a hard place for these people.

Layla has become quite the little social butterfly at the kennel.
She really enjoys playing one-on-one with other friendly dogs.
What Layla would love most though is being in a home of her own with a human playmate to cuddle with and be entertained by all that spunk! 😊

Compared to what other rescues and shelters have taken on this year, it may seem like nothing, but it meant the world to desperate shelters and owners surrenders.
What Helping Hand for Animals has done with what little we have, and many times on short notice, says a lot about this little group and the good people who support us and all rescue groups.
So even though the situation that surrounds us may seem like Goliath we choose to remain as David.
We'll keep fighting the good fight in 2025 until each one of these faces has a place to call home.
We have the remaining 8 still in search of their happily ever after.
