Most Sundays HHA will attempt to have a "Share off" aka
"Share Off Sunday" 😉
We will ask everyone to share this particular post as much as possible and wherever possible in order to get the word out for our young adults ....and even middle-aged adult.... pets still in need of forever homes or foster homes.
Riley is a 10 year old sweet Chihuahua mix.
His owner passed away and now he is left without a mama or a papa.
He has been tested with other friendly dogs and does well with
1 on 1 friendly dogs.
Riley longs to be with his person.
Riley is fully vetted and ready to be your Forever companion.

We have an update on our beautiful Momma Luna.
She had a visit at Prairie Lane Veterinary in Omaha yesterday.
She was weighed (gained 5 pounds!), rechecked and even had her
nails-did there nails 💅.
Treatment for heartworm begins next month.
In addition to heartworms she also has a condition relayed to her from ticks. The veterinarian said that the heartworm treatment should also get rid of that so it's going to be a strong treatment.
With that being said Miss Luna will have to stay very still and quiet for a while after these sessions.
Anything that makes her too active or pumped up will cause her blood to pump faster and may cause possible blood clots.
Unfortunately until we get a bill of better health from the vet and the treatment is completed, Luna's mama will not be able to foster 😕.
We want to thank everyone who's contributed and continue to contribute to Luna's treatments and vet visits.

We realized Friday the 13th was yesterday but every day can be a lucky 13 Day when you have Prince in the house!
This beautiful boy is looking for home as sweet as he is.
Prince David is the most loving and kindest soul deserving of a peaceful loving environment.

We want to thank everyone in the Omaha area for purchasing online sales this Summer through our
Rocket Car Wash Fundraiser.
We raised approximately $120 doing so.
I used my first coupon this week to wash my rusty old Lemon-on-4wheels and it looks beautiful !
At least it's got that much going for it now 😊
The staff at Rocket have always been courteous and helpful. 💕
We enjoy doing this online fundraiser every year with them!

From the Founder--
Helping Hand for Animals has always been a diverse and supportive group of those with different beliefs, lifestyles and political backgrounds as long as the one thing that we all have in common is the Love of Animals and respect for those who care for them.
I personally have a very dry sense of humor and enjoy sharing funny memes especially when it pertains to highlighting pets. Sometimes they may lean towards recent events but we do not intend it to be bias one way or the other.
After a week in this country of school shootings, one being in Omaha, it's been a nice break to have some "funny" to come out of this week's news as well. There're currently a lot of memes going around highlighting the false information of dogs and cats being consumed by a certain group of people in this country.
With that all being said, we know there's always going to be extremists out there trying to make a point, who may now think stealing or causing harm to animals is the right thing to do in order to validate the claim. So please be diligent if you do see anything unusual. Do not hesitate to call your local authorities. Watch your pets a little closer over the next couple of weeks.
I guarantee you though, it will not be from one specific community but most likely disturbed people who want to be a part of what's trending right now.
All of this nonsense does bring up what occurred within the Omaha rescue community over 20 years ago Some of us old bats who were doing rescue back then remember the name of Cherish Nuzini. An American born woman who posed, not only as a rescuer and a licensed breeder, but also as a dog groomer. She was behind a movement of many dog thefts. I was personally involved in directing the sheriff's department in Washington County back then to raid where she lived. The bones of animals were found. It was never confirmed that they belonged to stolen cats and dogs but it was also never confirmed that they weren't.
I was not taken seriously for a while until more evidence came to play that this woman and her now disbarred lawyer gentleman friend we're running some kind of a scam.
She was finally arrested for fraud by not delivering dogs that people paid for thinking she was a legitimate breeder. I think there were bad checks and other charges that were merely, in my opinion, slap on the wrist. I'm pretty sure she's out and about again running some scam. So what I'm saying is even though untruthful comments were recently made regarding a certain area or group of people doing such things, there are unhinged people out there who have the ability to do such things.
So

Helping Hand for Animals is still in search of foster/forever homes for
Sweet Riley -a Chihuahua mix whose owner recently passed away.
And Sweet Scarlet who is scheduled for transport out of South Carolina but has no place to go once she gets here 😞
Sweet Prince is still taking what life throws at him with grace. This sweet declawed cat deserves his own home and his own cuddles with his own person.
Aelia is a young girl that's been through quite a bit but that doesn't keep her down. This happy girl is ready for a home with lots of love and playtime to offer!
Last but never Least, our matriarch, Bella still holds hope that a human will love her as much as we do.🙏

On this night...19 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives.

None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

Aelia had a great night out and met some nice people 🤗

Aelia had a meet and greet today!
Unfortunately the people were looking for a dog about half her size, however there were some positives! Aelia warmed up to the ladies quickly and was very respectful of them. There was no jumping or pawing, she sat nicely for attention and treats!

We will find her the perfect home soon!
