Happy ! Last week, we had the vet out to look at a number of kids, including Jay. Our Hoover boy just didn’t seem to be that excited about food. Dr. Stokes did an oral exam and everything seemed to be in order there so she ran a very expensive but very inclusive blood panel to check for everything else.

When your vet calls you the moment she gets blood results first thing Monday morning, you know it’s going to be good….

Jay has Cushings and EMS. Which, honestly, is no surprise. His mom had a very early onset of both. Being an overachiever that he is, though, Jay also has very low thyroid. All this explains why the boy has not been himself for the last two weeks or so.

Jay is starting on all sorts of fun meds today to hopefully make him feel better soon. We’ll be running his bloodwork again in a couple of weeks to make sure he is on the right track.

Although this diagnosis sucks, I am once again so thankful for our vet who notices little things and makes sure they are addressed.

Now is the time to start thinking about year-end tax-deductible donations. Our medical fund sure could use a boost.

Not rescue related but I wanted to ask here since the page has a wide reach. We are looking for a dash cam for the car. It needs to be hardwired, have a long continuous recording period (including when the car is not on), and cover 360° outside in case of an accidenr or a break-in (you never know around here). Any recommendations?

Zoey enjoyed her chiropractic adjustment with Dr. Stokes followed by TheraPony-EquiPulse and a jelly-filled doughnut to celebrate her special day and help her recover from her abscess.

Happy ! This week we have a scheduked vet visit to check Zoey’s hoof abscess as well as check on a couple of kids who are not loving their food at the moment. Zoey will also (hopefully) be getting an adjustment after compensating for her ouchie foot.

Fun fact: Zoey is the founding horse of TheraPony. We are celebrating 14 years with both Zoey and the rescue this week.

Both Zoey and I are going to sleep much better tonight. Our three legged girl just has an abscess. Thank you, Dr. Stokes, for showing up yet again well into the night to fix up the horse and calm mom’s nerves.

The only way people will find out about TheraPony and the work we do is by seeing our posts.

We don't do a lot of public events where we get noticed.

We don't do lessons and shows where we get exposure

We don't pick and choose "fun" cases that attract large audience

We don't have a ton of adoptions

Our adopted horses will not be winning any championships

We are a small group, doing what we can when we can for the horses we can help. Please LIKE, share, and comment on our posts to make them visible. It's the only way anyone will know we are here and that horses need help. It's the only way to stay relevant and not get buried by FB algorithms.

The only better way to help than to interact with our posts on FB is to interact with us in person. Or do both. We welcome any and all help.
