We’re working with Naughty Noodle Academy and excited to announce A FREE Certified Trainer led Pack Walk. Wednesday 11/27/24 8am at Barnett Ranch

As many of our followers already know, our rescue saves dogs with behavior problems. Part of this commitment is working to help current owners keep their dogs at home by offering training. This is a FREE pack walk for all dogs and their owners.

There is no fee to join us and is open to the community. If you need a dog to walk we can provide one as well.

Safety rules:
No flat collars
No retractable leashes
No prong collars
No electric or electric-collars

Approved gear:
Well fitted harnesses (must fit snug so your dog can not wiggle out)
Slip leads
Head collars (gentle leader style)
And leashes that are 4’ - 6’ long

You are welcome to bring training treats, but not necessary.

If your dog is reactive, please message us prior to joining so we can make sure the walk is at their level. If your dog isn’t able to walk due to reactivity, we can help with other training work.

Have you met Raisin (bran)?

We pulled him from the shelter a year ago.

Coming from a hoarding situation that had over 39 dogs in a backyard, Raisin is one of the hardest cases we’ve ever had. Hitting the one year mark at our rescue and still can’t be touched causes us to reassess his situation.

We always look at quality of life when assessing a dog’s future. Our vets and other trainers bring up valid points (we can’t keep them all at our rescue for life, he can’t be adopted if he can’t be touched, etc.), but I feel it’s my job to look at the small picture and make a case for his quality of life being good.

These are the areas where Raisin has excelled and has a good quality of life.

1. Happy zoomies around the property.
2. Recall! While we can’t touch him or get a leash on him without stressing him out, his recall is amazing.
3. Slowly accepting training for cooperative care.
4. He loves his meal times and cookies.

This guy needs your help! We need to get him to a vet which is going to require sedation for an exam, he will need behavioral meds, and intensive daily work with a fear free trainer (board and train). He needs at least 5 monthly sponsors and one-time donors to cover the vet visit and training.

Imagine you are a small business owner, in an already crowded field. And then other businesses that provide the same service/product are able to offer it for FREE.

It’s safe to say you probably would have a hard time staying afloat. Unfortunately that’s the harsh reality for rescues these days. Our costs have increased and our adoption fees have decreased.

It’s a struggle when shelters are able to give away free dogs, but rescues have to charge or fundraise to provide even the most basic care.

Case in point. These 5 dogs have had a rough go at life so far. They haven’t had any medical - shots, deworming, etc. And then they lost their owner unexpectedly. These dogs need our help! It is URGENT that we get them fixed ASAP because the females are in heat and were not separated from their brothers.

Even with giving dogs away for free the shelters can’t handle the amount of dogs they are getting in. This is a need where community members can help.

We MUST raise $695 to pay for their upcoming medical expenses. That covers 5 dogs(3 females in heat 1 suspected pregnant) to receive bordatella/parvo distemper shots, microchip, spay/neuter and rabies.

🌟 Meet Scout: A True Success Story! 🌟

A year ago, Scout arrived at our rescue from a shelter, and he was a completely different dog. Coming from a hoarding situation, he couldn’t be touched, leashed, or handled, and he would bite out of fear. But thanks to the love and patience of our dedicated trainer, Scout has made incredible strides! 🐾❤️

Today, Scout is a happy and loving pup who enjoys being groomed, loves gentle pets, and is comfortable on a leash. He’s crate trained and gets along great with other dogs. And let’s not forget his favorite treat—cookies! 🍪🐶

This adorable girl, Minnie, has faced some challenges but has come out even stronger! Recently diagnosed with a mast cell tumor, Minnie has successfully had it removed and is now healthy and thriving. 🎉

Minnie is the sweetest companion you could ask for! She’s friendly with both dogs and people and loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch or playing ball. 🐾 Her favorite activities include going for walks and soaking up all the love she can get. Plus, she’s potty trained and crate trained, making her the perfect addition to any family!

From frozen stuff to running around…

Yay for Ben! He hasn’t had a seizure in 4+days and he’s back to running/walking around.

Today Ben and friends walked to the local vets office so he could get used to the smells and be ready for his appointment on Wednesday. He did awesome and the staff was so kind they came out and gave him pets 💕 yay Ben!

Ben is a long term resident here at our rescue. With extreme behavioral issues only one person can handle him. And she is NOT a groomer! But we think Ben looks adorable💕🐾💕

Aggressive puppy gets second chance at happiness

Ben suffers from many types of anxiety. Being an undiagnosed blind puppy that was punished for being naughty, his brain didn’t develop correctly leaving him with a lot of stressors. We’ve been working with him for 15 months and yesterday he had the happiest day ever! Since we got him his veterinarians have always had Quality of Life talks with us to make sure that he isn’t suffering needlessly. And we’ve stayed committed to giving him the patience and grace to learn what real happiness and a trusting relationship are. Here he is having the best zoomies ever!

July is almost here! That means backyard fireworks, community fireworks and let’s remember they don’t all happen in the 4th!
