Rusty Dog Ranch is MOVING! Many of you know that I have wanted to move out of California, and it is officially going to happen.

My ranch has sold as of today! We have not yet located our next ranch, but we are looking in the Ozarks of NW Arkansas or SW Missouri. We will be leaving California at the end of February. However, we do plan to continue breeding Vizslas, just in a much prettier location. ;)

I will post up once I have exact details.

We had an awesome day at the 2019 Puppy Reunion! Thank you all who came from near and far to join us! Not only did we celebrate Mother’s Day (yes 4 legged kids count here!), but we were able to have our rattle snake trainer out to teach avoidance!

It’s so nice to see that it works when my previously trained dogs won’t go any where near them! We even had our mascot (whiskey, our Yorkie) trained this year. I ran all of my Vizslas through and so happy they will be avoiding them if the encounter them.

Remember, you should still get the vaccine if you hike. It will buy you some time if they get bit.

Thanks again for those who made it. We had a lot of fun and so nice to see all of my babies!!!

Sharing a happy ending and tip. If you dont have them, get a collar embroidered with your phone number, now!

Seri was with my daughter, visiting my sister in a remote location in Colorado. All our Vizsla's wear nylon collars embroidered with our phone numbers, just in case (also microchipped - but that takes more effort then some people will put out.) Well yesterday Seri and Blue (my nephew's V) decided to take off on them in Colorado. Blue lives there, but Seri doesn't.

We were heart broken because 4 adults going in different directions in vehicles and off road bikes could not find them in 8 hours. As many of you have read, there have been a few lost V's listed in the Vizsla pages, including at least one in Colorado never to be found. You can imagine the panic at not knowing if they were ok, hurt, or???

Well we got them back today!!! That collar worked, and someone called us to say they had Seri! Both Seri and Blue are safe. The tears were flowing! If you have never lost a dog overnight, it is the worst feeling (well maybe loosing a child overnight would top it, but its close!) Randi said she is buying a GPS collar, because overnight is too long! LOL!

We are all rejoicing to have her back home where she belongs.

Make sure you have your collars embroidered, because tags fall off! Especially when traveling away from home. Kiss your V's tonight We are!

Wow! I am asked a lot how long I have been breeding Vizslas. It seems like it hasn't really been that long. Guess when you love what you do, it isn't!

Then I see this photo shared by a long time Vizsla family member and I'm amazed! Not only because of all the wonderful Vizslas I have been part of bringing into this world, but all the wonderful families that I get to be part of. So let's see all your Sugar faces!

The funniest part of all of this is Cheyenne has almost NO sugar and she was my first female Vizsla.
