Big Poplar Farm Boer Goats Big Poplar Farm is located in Ramseur, NC and is owned and operated by Dusty and Patricia Cockerham.

The mission of Big Poplar Farm is to raise choice Fullblood and Percentage Boer Goats to be sold as breeding stock for both those new to the Boer industry and those looking to improve their current herds. Our goal is to raise goats that exemplify breed characteristics, no matter what color coat, and most importantly goats that can be financially justified through living long productive lives.

In our experience it's not that often that you get 9 great years from a working livestock dog. Jasper was among the first litter of puppies ever born at the farm. In his early years he always stayed in the furthest pasture from the house because we were confident he would keep 2-legged predators away and we trusted him fully with his livestock. As the years went by he slowed down and moved closer to the house. He will be missed, but thankful he lived a long life doing what he loved.

We have three 5 year old fullblooded commercial Kikos available. Their sire came from TNT Farm in Illinois. They still have good bags and are great mommas. These three have been running with a fullblooded boer, ADVBG BRAVO son, for over 60 days. Will also have some does available that just weaned kids last week.

Started 2024 kidding last Sunday.

After a few rounds of cuts which included some good replacement does we were able to offer, these are our final 2023 keeper meat does. All are out of fullblooded Kiko dams, have never been wormed, and keep great cover on minimal grain. Looking forward to adding them to the 2024 breeding herd.

You're confused? I'm confused bro. Yukon is probably our best Bucovina Shepherd when it comes to bonding with the livestock 😂

It holds true with any breed of goat. You can usually tell all you need to know from just looking at their head. One of my favorite kikos. Strong bottom jaw = good goat

First LF4 Jail Bird kids born on the farm. (Buck in profile picture) They were born Dec 4 in the pasture to a Kiko cross doe.
