Please be on the lookout for this sweet boy, Darwin, who got out on Friday. He is an indoor cat, and wasn't wearing a collar. He has bright yellow eyes and long black fur. He went missing near the cross streets of Amado and Contigo in Rancho Mission Viejo. Please let us know if you have seen him. His mom really misses him!

More pets go missing on 4th of July than any other holiday. Are you prepared? Make sure your pets have collars with ID tags, and that contact information linked to their microchips is accurate. If you need sedatives, today is the day to call. Have a safe and happy holiday! Since we will be closed on July 4th, if you have an emergency, please contact Healing Hearts Emergency Animal Hospital or Animal Urgent Care of South Orange County
06/20/2024
Dear clients, with 4th of July just around the corner, now is the time to request sedatives if your pet needs them, not July 3rd. 😛 Your pet must be current on their yearly exam in order for us to legally prescribe their medications. And remember, more pets go missing on 4th of July than any other holiday. Make sure to take every precaution necessary to keep your pets safe.

Does anyone recognize this little guy? He was found running on Ortega Highway near The Hunt Club. No tags and no chip. Please share so we can get him home!
HE'S BEEN REUNITED!!!! Thank you to everyone who helped. For Victoria for bringing him to us, and to Megan for sharing this to your ring app. (I believe that's how he was located) A very happy, reunion was had when they exchanged him back at our hospital.

Rattlesnake season typically starts in April, and ends around October, when temperatures are warm. Keep dogs leashed when walking on trails, avoid letting them in the brush, know where the nearest veterinary hospitals are to where you're hiking, and get the rattlesnake vaccine! If you are interested in the rattlesnake vaccine, call us to make an appointment. (949) 226-5597

Reyk is an absolute joy of a puppy! Rebandaging him every day was actually a pleasure. His moms card and delicious goody basket was so thoughtful! We love you, Reyk!

We hope you have a wonderful day, but please keep this in mind!
Recent research has revealed the nation’s favorite Valentine’s Day chocolates. Guess what? Our pets like them, too. Unfortunately, chocolate can be deadly to dogs and cats.

Just a reminder to stay safe this Thanksgiving. We will be closed, but if you have an emergency, please reach out to Healing Hearts Emergency Animal Hospital at (949) 409-0333. We wish you a wonderful holiday!
Thanksgiving is a time for friends, family and holiday feasts—but also a time for possible distress for our animal companions. Pets won’t be so thankful if they munch on undercooked turkey or a pet-unfriendly floral arrangement, or if they stumble upon an unattended alcoholic drink.
11/20/2023
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients that helped us achieve this! We are so honored!

Even though we're getting a little rain, it's still hot out there. Try this popsicle recipe to keep those pups cool!
07/20/2023
This also includes walking your pet on the hot pavement. We cannot stress this enough!!!!! We spend a lot of time bandaging feet during these hot months. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pet.
06/15/2023
And please, please, please, don't wait until a few days before the 4th to order your pets prescription tranquilizers, or to get vaccines for boarding. This is a very busy time of year in the veterinary industry, and appointments book up well in advance!

And please, please, please don't forget about the temperature on the ground, as well as in the air. We spent so many hot days bandaging the painful foot pads of pets that have burned them on the concrete.
The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center and the Leave No Trace Organization have teamed up to give you a handy guide to staying safe and environmentally friendly while spending time outdoors with your pet.

We humans benefit from preventive care, why not our beloved family pets? . We all know that preventive care is imperative for living a long and healthy life and that is why we are introducing our brand new standard and comprehensive preventative panels! Why complete blood/urine/fecal tests? These panels are vital in order to establish baselines for LIFELONG WELLNESS and EARLY DETECTION. Remember: Our furry family members can’t describe symptoms to you, but will show you signs of illness or disease. Statistics tell us that 10% of pets that appear healthy to their owners have underlying diseases. . All panels include: ● Complete Blood Count - can identify infection, inflammation, and anemia. ● Complete Blood Chemistry - provides information about your pet’s liver, kidneys, and pancreas. ● Urinalysis - Identifies an infection or inflammation in the urinary tract. ● Fecal test - Allows veterinarians to check your pet for intestinal parasites. ● Infectious disease screening - Identifies if your pet has been exposed to parasitic diseases, such as tick-borne diseases, heartworm, and other infectious diseases. . Intrigued? Eager to learn more? Give us a call at (949) 226-5597! 🐾💕#dog #cat #vetmed #preventitivemedicine #veterinarymedicine #oc #orangecounty #sanjuancapistrano #laderaranch #ranchomissionviejo #lagunaniguel #danapoint #missionviejo #ranchosantamargarita #cotodecaza #alisoviejo #dogsofinstagram #followme #instapet #love #dogoftheday #playtime #instagood #family

What is a NAD? Well, we're glad you asked! - A NAD, also known as a non-anesthetic dental, is a procedure performed by our lovely George without any anesthesia by scaling the teeth of your beloved pooch. NAD's are a great way to keep Fluffy's pearly whites pearly white in between comprehensive anesthetic cleanings. - Come in for an exam, and Dr. Mauna would be more than happy to assess Fido's chompers and determine the best course of action!
A round of appaws please for this little lady and her killer dance moves. 👏💃She's not that great of a dancer, ya know, since she has two left feet. 🐾 #yougogirl #shelikesit #cancancanine #shelikestomoveitmoveit #tango #samba #salsa #merengue #vetlife #veterinarian #vettechs #oc #orangecounty #ranchomissionviejo #ranchosantamargarita #laderaranch #sanjuancapistrano #lagunaniguel #cotodecaza #danapoint #ocvet #puppiesofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #babes
Curious about how non anesthetic dentals are done? Your furry one is gently restrained while George from Veterinary Dental Services scrapes off their tartar. ❤️😍❤️ Come in for an exam and talk to Dr. Mauna about a dental cleaning, our non anesthetic dental days are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
Case of the month. This lil guy had been to a couple different vets over the past 8 months for suspected recurrent urinary tract infections. Upon exam we felt a firm mass in his belly. Thanks to his dedicated owners we were able to perform a full abdominal ultrasound and localize the mass adjacent to his bladder. We are happy to report we were able to remove the tumor without complication!
Look guys! O.M.G. Fetch is actually happening! Thanks for humoring us, Gunner! #dogsofinstagram #vetlife #veterinarian #animalhospital #nomeangirlshere #foxterrier #morelikefoxterror #laderaranch #ranchomissionviejo #sanjuancapistrano #bakerranch
Quick poll: How many people actually brush their dog's or cat's teeth at home on a routine basis? Well, you're not alone. Most people don't for a variety of reasons. As a result, it's very important to have them not only cleaned but thoroughly examined for any potential problems. We wanted to walk you through a typical dental cleaning at Sendero Animal Hospital.
