Portuguese Bend Riding Club LLC Enjoy the temperate weather, ocean breezes, and gorgeous views. PBRC is situated in the gated and peacock bedecked community of Portuguese Bend.

Nestled in the hillside of Palos Verdes, Portuguese Bend Riding Club boasts beauty, charm, and a deep history, with our 1920s Spanish Villa courtyard, large old trees and landscaped grounds. This horse stables on the Palos Verdes Peninsula offer horse boarding, horseback riding lessons and horse training. Although we offer English and Western training and lessons, PBRC welcomes all riding disciplines.

We're excited to announce that Emmeli Bruno will be coming on board as our English trainer at PBRC!

Emmeli was born and raised in Sweden and comes from a multi-disciplinary background - with experience in dressage, show jumping and eventing. She has an extensive equestrian background, including running a hunter/jumper barn in Connecticut and working for Grand Prix dressage rider Michael Lieberg.

She moved down to Palos Verdes in 2008 and began riding at PBRC, training and competing with her jumper Marco. She has been riding and working in the equestrian industry in PV for the last 16 years, specializing in developing horses and riders at private barns all over the hill. Emmeli loves problem solving, with her ultimate goal being to bring harmony between owner and horse.

Emmeli hopes to eventually grow the English program at PBRC with a focus on creating a loving, supportive and fun environment for both horse and rider.

In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband and two teenage boys, and she loves horse adventures to hone her passion and just came back from a riding safari in Kenya.

Emmeli will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays at PBRC to share expertise and passion for horses. She is open for lessons on school horses and on riders' personal horses. She looks forward to meeting you and your horse, and helping you work towards accomplishing your goals!

Portuguese Bend Riding Club in Rancho Palos Verdes has openings for boarding- including for retired horses!

We also have space available for a hunter/jumper trainer!

Portuguese Bend is a full-service barn with multiple arenas (two are newly constructed!), 5 large turnouts, a wash rack with hot water, 3 round pens, 2 hotwalkers, live-in staff, and a western training/lesson program on site.

We are still open and operating!

We've had a lot of concern from our community following this weekend's power shutoff. Please know that we have not been asked to evacuate and there is no imminent threat to us or our horses. While we did lose power, we are getting solar power installed as we speak. We are all ok, and hope to see you at the barn soon!
