A Home for Every Living Pet H.E.L.P. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing financial assistance for shelter animals. is dedicated to saving sick, injured and elderly L.A.

City shelter animals - those that remain behind in their cages while others find homes, those with little chance of rescue or adoption. We assist those who choose to adopt these pets in need, knowing that there are medical challenges, by paying an agreed upon percentage of the veterinary costs necessary to care for their new family members. In cases where there is no other option and the dog or ca

t would be euthanized at the shelter, H.E.L.P. rescues the animal and arranges for medical treatment and foster care. We also have an intervention/outreach program which offers guidance and services to the public when they have nowhere else to turn.

🩷Chi Chi is a lovely senior sweetheart who doesn’t see or hear well, but she will find her way into your heart. She’s super mellow but has cute little spurts of playful energy. Two of her favorite things are snuggling and sunbathing, and she enjoys going on life’s little adventures with you. She loves to be pet and will instantly flop over for belly rubs, with her tail wagging a mile a minute. Chi Chi gets along with both cats and dogs, and will make a wonderful little bestie. 🐾

T.G.I.F. from our sweet Sophia. Sophia saw our vet for an ear infection and because she’s been a little lethargic we also did a senior panel. Thankfully, her bloodwork shows no issues other than being a little granny.

Emmeline had her cardiologist consult and we are pleased to report that she doesn’t need any meds or treatment. She has been cleared for her badly needed dental which we will schedule for next week. The cost of the cardio consult, with our discount, was $771. Though donations have been down we continue to provide our dogs with the very best care.

If you’re looking for a senior who is easygoing and easy to love, look no further than Milky Way. This handsome little dude is one of the easiest dogs ever. He’s quiet and good-natured, and gets along well with other dogs, cats and kids. His vision is slightly limited but he gets around fine and enjoys leisurely walks and sunbathing. He also loves to nap and is quite the foodie. Milky Way is house-trained, rides nicely in the car and is definitely best friend material. 💕 And did we mention he’s super easy?

How adorable is Bella! This senior sweetheart is quite the little foodie and her favorite things, besides food, include leisurely walks, visits to the park, car rides, and squirrel patrol at the park. Bella is good with other dogs and children, though she doesn’t like to share her beds or her food. She will make an excellent couch buddy and best friend. 💕

Happy Valentine’s Day from gorgeous Josephine! She’s a super smart girl who learns quickly and strives to meet your expectations. She loves playing with her rope toys and can keep herself endlessly entertained, though she’ll also join you on the couch to binge your favorite show. Josie is gentle and affectionate, house-trained and is a dream in the car. She needs a home with an active lifestyle, a yard for sunbathing and critter watching, and no children. She would love occasional trips to the beach. She is approximately 4-years old and is a big girl at 90-lbs. She is amazing and we adore her. 💕

Meet our newest H.E.L.P. dog, Pebbles! Pebbles was surrendered to the shelter by the daughter of elderly parents who could no longer care for her. Pebbles is 16-years old and weighs just 3.5-lbs, and she went straight to our vet for a full senior work up. So far we know she has limited vision and doesn’t hear well. She also has generalized alopecia and a hernia on either side of her anus. We will do everything we can to ensure that Pebbles lives the rest of her life feeling safe and surrounded by nothing but love. Meet our newest H.E.L.P. dog, Mitzi (fka Mochi)! Mitzi was in Harbor Shelter with a skin condition so we whisked her straight to our vet for a full work up. Sadly, she’s already been in the shelter several times though she’s only 2 years old. Itsy bitsy Mitzi weighs 6-lbs and is beyond adorable. She’s deliciously squishy and super affectionate and we can’t get enough of her. Hello from fabulous Finley! Finley is a quirky senior gent who craves companionship and always wants to be near you. The only thing he loves as much as he loves his person is food - this boy loves to eat! Finley has a very sweet nature and gets along with other dogs and children. Finley does have CHF which causes him to have occasional hypoxia (seizure-like) episodes and requires regular medication. If you’re looking for a scruffy little bestie, Finley may be the one for you. So much cuteness in one little dog! Our scruffilicious senior Celeste is pure sweetness and a total snuggle bug. She wants to sleep on the bed with you every night, and cuddle on the couch during the day. She’ll also be your little blonde shadow, and if you work from home she will likely nap next to your feet while you work. She loves other dogs, gets along with cats and has a playful side. Happy Sunday from Josephine! Lovely Josie is still being treated for bacterial infections, but her neck and belly have cleared up and overall her skin is looking better. The biopsy and fine needle aspiration both came back negative and Josephine is finally putting on weight. She’s such a gem, so special and sweet. And she loves her red ball! 💕
