A couple pieces out the door this week. Thank you all for the work. Some custom pieces done in this group. Custom work on a deer born with a 1.75" overbite, and a blind eye in an old bruiser. That deer had a broke main beam, a blind eye and more holes and cuts than any other deer I've ever done. (Finding romance in the deer world isn't an easy job. Lol.)

Have been cranking on deer before the season starts again. Thanks to all the guys that picked up this last week. I didn't get pictures of some of the pieces, but appreciate all your support. More coming next week. I'll be jumping back to some bear, then deer again. Also have some antelope and fish on deck.

It's been a while since I posted anything, I've been extremely busy with work and life.
I'm posting now in order to ask you all to support another outdoorsman in need.
This Saturday Ridge Runners Gun Club in Cascade is having a fundraiser for a family in need.
They will have a bunch of great prizes, including my donation....a shoulder mount whitetail gift certificate. That's right, come out and get in on a chance to win a free shoulder mount from WILD PRIDE TAXIDERMY.

Had another great event yesterday at the Random Lake Rod and Gun Club. Thanks to everyone that came out to support it, and help raise money for kids in need and our veterans.

Today is my Pa's birthday. This was the last turkey hunt we did together. He just about gave me a heart attack every time I called one in for him. Lol. If would fidget around and talk, or some crazy thing. That being said I wish I was scouting another one out for his spring hunt.
Anyone that knew him will know where our family got our sense of humor, and art skills.
I miss that old fart. Happy birthday Pa, have a "shnort" today, and I'll be seeing you in the happy hunting grounds again someday.

Just wanted to share a piece I did for Terri Haas. She got her 22" wide whitetail in Wisconsin, and her desert muledeer in Texas. She had a vision to do something special with them. Her husband provided the wood base and the birch tree. I did my best to give her what she had in mind. I also did a little custom airbrush and hand painted finish work on the back, to match the birch bark. Thanks Terri, I had fun doing with this one. Enjoy!

The shop is full of drying deer, and bunches of them have been going home. Thanks guys. Some oddball stuff coming up, then bears and then fish. After that, onto deer from this last season. Thanks everyone, I truly appreciate the work. More pics to come!

Usually don't post things two days in a row, but this is awsome. First let me say I love seeing the young people that are hunting, especially the young ladies. That being said, I love the idea of how this deer was displayed. Again, I can't thank my customers enough, and a very Merry Christmas to all.

Just few more that are home now. Thank you all for the work. I'm chiseling away at the last bunch of deer from last year. I'm hopeful to have everyone done between the end of November or mid December. From what I'm hearing, things are getting hot. This weekend should be good. Good luck everyone, and I'll see some of you Thurs night at the gun club.

I'm going to be doing a hands on tutorial on caping a deer head off the skull. This is something that will help save some trophies.
It's also something that some states require before crossing state lines with your animals due to CWD and other diseases.
I'm doing it at the Random Lake Rod and Gun Club, W3315 Jay Rd. Belgium. Next week Thursday,October 26th.
The first presentation will start at 6:30, the second around 7:15. I will show a simple and safe way to cape out a deer. This technique will work on almost all game animals. It's open to the public, so invite your buddies.

A couple cool projects went home recently. A nice largemouth, a dandy mulie and a first for me....a pheasant rug mount. Thanks gentlemen.
With the season started, remember in this weather get that deer skinned/caped as soon as possible. It helps get rid of ticks, and saves the hide. ( Not to mention, it saves your taxidermist from smelling some very interesting smells.) Good luck everyone.

This is Roger and Eric. Our two veterans that the group from the Random Lake Rod and Gun Club took bear hunting this last week. The money raised at our Annual Deer Classic supports our great American heros, as well as many other vets and disabled children. Roger was in Vietnam and Eric did 8 tours combined in Iraq and Afghanistan. Booth of these guys are great men, and a pleasure to have had in camp. Also a tip of the hat to the huge group of guys that helped with Roger's hunt. Thanks to everyone that helped. Thanks to all the people that support the Deer Classic, and a special thanks again to the men and women like Eric and Roger that stand tall for our great country.

Big thanks to my customer and friend Scott. This guy knows a bit about getting big bucks. The last three years he's brought in a trophy. He put a couple together on this nice pedestal mount in his trophy room. He's got his eyes on another one this year. Looking forward to seeing it.
