Private lessons are an hour long lesson, customized to meet your dogs needs. These lessons are done in real life environments to help both dog and owner reach their goals. The lessons will generally start in your home and we will work our way to more distracting environments . In each lesson I will work with both the dog(s) and the owner(s) on a specific exercise that will help reach the owners goal. In between lessons you will be given homework to work on to ensure that your dog is getting a good understanding of what we are trying to teach.

Meet Gabby. This flat coated retriever just moved here with her owners from the Carolinas. She is excited to get started on off leash training so she can enjoy our lakes and ponds. Back in the Carolina’s they couldn’t let her swim for the fear of alligators would get her.

Look at that focus. Normally Daisy would be going nuts right now as there are dogs everywhere. We utilized the dog park(staying in the parking lot) to work on her reactivity. Daisy gets so excited to see other dogs that she will normally pull and scream. It’s really embarrassing for her mom. We did some drills and worked on focus around the real problem.

Well we are into the Ber months November, and December!! Just because it’s getting colder out doesn’t mean your dogs go into hibernation. They still need walks and outings to keep them well balanced.

When do you start training your puppy?? The answer is right away. I picked up Klunk this past Saturday he was 8 weeks. Besides potty training we are working on crate training,and socializing properly. Today we did some driving and socializing.

Crate training is so important and most people give in at this age. Your puppy will cry, your puppy with paw to get out. The only time the door opens is when they are quiet. They only need to be quiet for a second.

Socializing is exposing your dog or puppy to new environments and teaching them how to act in those environments. At 8 weeks I just carried him through the pet store to get some new toys and a harness. I didn’t put him down or let him smell anything. He was just observing from my arms. Then we popped in to see my friend and Chiropractor.

Klunk is learning down. If I make it too difficult he gives up so we are starting with just his front elbows touching the ground for a lure. No command until I like the fished down.

We all have to feed our dogs. They need to eat. I have been playing around with some feeding enrichment ideas with the pups. This is one of many I really like. I portion out enough food for all three of my dogs in one bowl and add in some treats then I toss handfuls of food out for the dogs to get. When that handful is almost done I toss another and another until all the food is gone. I am finding through these enrichment feeding exercises the dogs are for fulfilled after eating they want to rest. Molly and pepper were not eating their kibble but when we do these games they eat all of it. ⛔️only do this with multiple dogs if you can garentee the dogs will not fight. ⛔️don’t do this every meal or day with multiple dogs because we don’t really know how much food each dog is getting.
