It was a FANTASTIC CLINIC!!! I'm going through hours of video and hope this week to get some video snippets up. Until then, just a shout out to Darrell Roberds who came and taught us so much! It was a weekend so packed full of knowledge that I didn't retain it all, I'm sure!!!

Open Arena again this Wednesday! Come practice some of the obstacles or ride some dressage tests. It's gonna be a scorcher, but it's much nicer in the arena under cover! We will start at 8am and run till 10pm tomorrow so u can come when it's not so hot! Hope to see u tomorrow!

The Darrell Roberds clinic is this weekend and we are excited to participate again this month! We know it's a busy weekend, but we have a few spots open if you are curious and want to give this sport a try! We won't be wearing coats this time, either!

Team Rock Ridge Landing rocked the Ft Meade Endurance ride LD on Sunday. We volunteered leading up to the ride and during the day on Saturday, manning gates, marking trails, and feeding volunteers breakfast... and then we were able to ride Sunday thanks to the ride manager Jen Masters!!! Sonya Grant on Asa won the Sunday LD ride, Bohdan Jakopak on Blossom was second, and Summer On Drifter was third. What a weekend to remember 💓!!!

We had a fantastic time at the Region 6 Arabian Show. It was a success for Riot and I! We achieved some fantastic scores in our Basic Western Dressage tests and Intro Western Dressage tests. We got home Saturday evening and Riot went on his first trail ride yesterday and did AMAZING. When we get show photos back I'll share them. It's been a fantastic week!

Here is a picture of Clipper, the foal born 4/8/24. He is out of RF Aria and the last foal by Zee Business before he passed away. Can you believe this guy is only 2 months old?!? He is gonna be an amazing hunter, endurance horse, or sport horse, and I'm excited to watch this horse grow up!

Everybody meet the last foal of the year, GusGus. He was born 6/6/24. He is exactly what we were hoping for. He is out of RF Afrodite, or "Stumpy" as we call her, and by Rushcreek Geronimo, a stallion standing in Kansas at Prariesylvania arabians. We have been very pleased with our half arabians out of these Appaloosa Sport Horses. This little guy will be for sale at weaning. A nicer sport horse prospect or endurance horse you won't find!

We are excited to open our barn every Wednesday from 10am to 10pm for people to come and ride, practice dressage or set up some WE obstacles and work thru them. Somebody will be here riding and working horses all day that day and can help with obstacles or calling a dressage test. Just a $20 haul in fee per person, not per horse. Come any time and stay as long as you want. There will be no organized activities or lunch. It's truly just an open practice day.

We wait no longer! Meet Eclipse - born around 3am. He is a cute little bugger, and I'm really excited to watch him grow. He is out of RF Aria, who is out of BJC Asher Seven, and an arabian stallion, Zee Business. Sadly Zee passed away last summer, shortly after breeding Aria, so there will be no more Zee Business babies. Mom and baby are healthy and doing great!

Meet Aria. She was bred last spring to the purebred Arabian stallion Zee Business and she is getting about ready to POP! She is at 330 days today - no picture yet today, but I'll try. We have been keeping a close eye on her and she has acted a little like she was going to foal any time in the past week - but the storms didn't squeeze out the bebe. Baby pictures to follow - when the baby arrives!

HORSESHOEING ANNOUNCEMENT:
**Not an April Fool's post**

Unfortunately, we are raising prices this Spring, about 10% across the board. We have not raised our labor prices in several years and we just can't hang on any longer without an increase.

Also, we have Bob Timmons Forge and Farrier Service working with us in the Sioux Falls area. He is able to take on some more clients this year. Get in contact with me if you want to schedule.

AND we have Noelle with Cimarron Farrier Services working with us in the Rapid City area. She is available for trims currently.

Building a multi-farrier practice in South Dakota isn't a fast process, but we are getting started. Keep watching for more updates on all the happenings at Rock Ridge Landing!

We are extremely excited to host Pam Harrington for a clinic on April 6, 2024. She will be presenting the Stable Core Method. We have by word of mouth over half of our 18 riding clinic slots already filled, so if you are available the 6th and want to participate, let me know! There is no limit to the half clinic day, so if you want to come and see what its all about, drop by and audit for $15.00 which incudes a lunch! The Black Hills Working Equitation gathering today was SO much fun! We are honored to have hosted so many fantastic fun and patient people today! We had lots of people new to WE and lots of familiar faces. The costume contest was a hit and we hope everybody enjoyed the food, the fun, and the fellowship we shared today enjoying our horses on a beautiful late October day! Our little place was bursting with people and horses but we made the best of our little venue! Hope to see everybody in November in Sturgis at the next gathering!
