Farriers are on the front line.

They are the equine professionals that see the horse most often.

They tell the clinet news and research in our industry as it comes.

They sacrifice time off to practice and attend clinics to become better in thier craft.

They are the always on call and thier phones are always on.

They are the first to be blamed when the horse doesn't move right.

They are tasked in dealing with many different personalities and must maintain a professional demeanor.

They have to stay in constant focus so the horse feels comfortable, and so thier tools don't injure themselves or others.

They have abused their bodies to get into better positions to gain a better angle on their work.

So, when your farrier wants time off or doesn't respond right away or is just a few minutes late to an appointment because he has to stop for coffee, please understand, our time, mental capacity, physical abilities and social limits might be maxed out.

We know not all farriers are the same, but they all deal with these same situations.

Be kind to your farrier!
