Animal Control Services is in active pursuit trying to find & catch a white boxer or pitbull looking dog.
It’s first location was by dinosaur park, the the Burger King on Jackson, then lost 2020 West Omaha St.

If you see him (or her) please call the Humane Society’s direct phone number (605) 642-1576 & ask to speak to the Animal Services Dispatcher.
If you are able to safely contain him until the ACO’s arrival it is better for the dogs safety

On the 7th of January 2 male kittens were left on the side of the road at 5th and Stumer Road in a kennel found by RCPD Officer Helwig.
Animal abandonment is a crime according to South Dakota Codified Law 40-1-2.3. & a Class 1 misdemeanor.
Video footage from the businesses in the area did not create a clear enough picture to the road so Animal Services & Rapid City Police Department would like the public’s help in identifying who these kittens belonged to & who they were abandoned by.
They were wearing collars & one is red & the other is more distinct with multi colored flowers

Attached are images of the kittens & the kennel they were left in. Tips should be made directly to the Animal Services line at (605) 394-4132
• referencing case number C0008880941 (can say kitten abandonment 0941 for short)

Thank you to the public for your help in bringing justice for these kittens. We are the voice for animals & our voices can be loud ‼️

Your gifts, time, and outward support helped us serve nearly 4,000 animals in need again last year. We have BIG things planned for 2025 and beyond - stay tuned for what's to come! ✨

Now, here are some of our favorite moments from 2024:

🐾 Hundreds of pets microchipped through adoptions, reclaims, and low-cost microchipping services

🐾 100+ events, programs and presentations with local schools, tours, and much more hosted or attended through our outreach and education efforts

🐾 5,300+ hours donated by volunteers across twelve different volunteering opportunities

🐾 Dozens of adoptable pets' medical needs and adoption fees sponsored by caring community members

🐾 2,100+ animals adopted to new homes

🐾 Growing partnerships with many local shelters to find the best placement for pets searching for homes, especially when at-capacity

🐾 170,000+ in-kind donations (pet supplies, food, linens, etc.) given by our generous community

🐾 And finally, we welcomed a Shelter Veterinarian to our team of skilled and passionate staff!

In the blink of an eye, 3,700+ animals had come through our doors in 2024. We couldn't do it without all of you. Thank you!
