Tomatoes, zucchini, patty pan squash, cucumbers, tomatillos, jalapeños, cayenne peppers, sugar rush peach peppers, tiny hot peppers, a few carrots I stole from Drax, and Calendula flowers

Fair week schedule if anyone wants to know!

This isn’just for 4-H kids.
This is a reminder to support kids even if you don’t have one support others and encourage them to do all the things they will never know what they are good at if they don’t try!!! If you can’t help financially then just show up to one thing! They have worked hard on the projects, sports or whatever thing they are doing they have spent time practicing and learning, and getting better than when they started. If you offer services i encourage you to give 4-H project discounts which is another way to support these kids, if you can afford it sponsor an award where one is needed so the kids that earn it will receive it. If you cant sponsor by yourself get together with a group of friends and donate together!!
It’s fair week everywhere! Get out there and watch the kids you know! They love to see faces if peopl they know!!

Want to save money at the grocery store?
This is what we do for stuff we don’t raise ourselves!

So we don’t eat a ton of pork so every 4-6 months we will buy at Costco
A pork loin
A 4- pack of bacon
Brats or sausage dogs
Italian sausage ( Kirkland brand)
So
Out of the loin we got
5- package of loin steaks(3 per package)
And I’m making the rest of the loin into chili verde so probably 3-5 meals out of the chili verde
Bacon-3-5 meals per package depending on what we’re using it for.
Milk italian sausage -4 meals
Andouille sausage dogs-4 meals
We spent approximately $60 on all of this and have packaged it up per meal on some of it 2-3 on others.
So for $60
We have approximately enough meat for 25 meals.
When buying meat in bult bring it home and repackage per meal, you will have less waist and more meals!
To go out and eat at a sit down restaurant it’s generally no less that $35-$40 for 2 people if you drink water.

We have decided to let Onyx go she’s a very shy mother as she was dam raised and not handled enough. She is a very sweet doe but has a few quirks.
She has kidded by herself without any issues except she seems to only want to feed one kid she will clean them all but won’t let the others eat this could be because I wasn’t there when she kidded and there was a long delay between kids which can happen. She isn’t mean to the others just won’t let them eat. She’s a great mom to the one she does feed.
She’s milking about 3/4 of a gallon once a day milking but I’m trying to dry her up now but will keep her in milk if someone is interested.
Once you catch her she’s been pretty good on the milk stand if your patient getting her up there. She really loves treats. I wouldn’t sell her but I’m trying to keep my herd down to 4 does and 1 maybe two bucks only to eventually replace Sig. and I have her yearling daughter and am keeping one of her doelings from this year.
She is 3 weeks fresh today and had triplet does and last year had twin doe and buck kids.
Once I figure out which kid to keep one of them will also be available.

Sweet Pea update!
Erika and Sweet Pea have almost finished their first year in pack goat project in 4-H. They have both learned so much. They came over yesterday and with the help of Avery and my niece Ali and Nieghbor girl Paisley we practiced going through obstacles that Sweet Pea was having some trouble with and after the time was over she had it mastered and we also took out Jade and our yearling for Moon and they got to learn too! We all had lots of fun!
