Sweet pea
Happy Birthday Sweet Pea!
Here’s a video from last summer
Though we have taken a break from breeding and raising goats we do still have 6. Including Sweetpea! So here’s a update on Sweetpea she is still tiny and has some issue with her female anatomy so she will never be bred. But she is a fun little goat she still jumps over the barn wall but puts herself back.
Her and Drax still love each other and he does the zoonoses when we go out to feed I think some to play and some to keep from getting creamed from the other goats. So here’s the first of the videos we took today. My stall girl is cleaning and we have people coming and going picking up milk from my friend and they think they need to hang with people!😂
Taking a walk to see if I can get a good picture for Ruby Reflections registration
Update on Sweet Pea and other two babies!
I don’t talk much about the other babies because Sweet Pea just forces us to focus on her because she is so darn cute!
Ruby (aka CNS ranch Reflection Ruby) is the doeling we retained out of Pickles before she left.
And we have a buckling that now is a wether that didn’t sell out of Breve. He will be sold or raised for meat. They are all doing well and have merged in with the big girls and are doing great they are much happier and lots less screaming. Today we start the end of weaning off a bottle. They are down to about 24 oz once a day except sweet pea is still at 20 oz today I cut their bottle down about 4 oz (20 oz for the bigger kids) 16 oz for sweet pea and I won’t make the milk as warm as usual. And I will cut back the milk 4-6 oz every week until they are weaned goat is to wean totally by June 19 which is their 4 month birthday! They eat grain pretty well Sweetpea eats it the best (go figure).
In the summer I usually open the big barn door which I did today, this afternoon Drax and I were in the garden prepping and planting and Sweet Pea figured out that I was outside and she jumped the barn wall and came looking It would be really fun to just let her hang out and follow me and the dog around the garden except I’m terrified she will eat the rhubarb leaves which are deadly toxic for animals. I think I tossed her over the wall 20 times yesterday! OMG she’s so dang cute!! But she really isn’t growing much. I will post a size comparison in another post!!
3 of these ladies will be available in Milk this fall and one as a pet.
Spent the day prepping and planting the garden walked by the barn and this is what I found!😝😳🤣
We may have a problem! Hopefully this isn’t something that continues when she gets older I’ve never had one jump the fence when they got older. I’ve had bigger kids jump that same spot and not do it as older goats but she’s a little turd!!
