Air fresheners can emit and generate a range of potentially hazardous air pollutants, many of which are listed on the EPAās Hazardous Waste Listā ļø (keep reading for our safe DIY alternatives). The chemicals used in many room sprays have been associated with adverse effects on human health, including migraine headaches, asthma attacks, skin reactions, infant illness, and in some cases carcinogenic changesš§¬, but what about our pets? š¶
Our dogs share our living experiences š , inhaling the same air and exposed to the same pollutants. They also suffer the same health consequences, but many animals cannot escape indoor environments with polluted air.

HANDS DOWN, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MUSHROOMS ON THE PLANET!
Whether you have a dogš¶ suffering with cancer or you're looking for an incredible cancer preventative to add to your dog's diet plan, turkey tail mushroomsš¦š should MOST certainly be in the mix!!
"For dogs, the median survival time for hemangiosarcoma of the spleen is 86 days, but dogs lived BEYOND A YEAR when turkey tail mushroom was added as a sole form of treatment!
In addition to helping keep your dogās immune system balanced and reducing inflammation, mushrooms exert a positive effect on immunosuppressed dogs and enhance your dogās humoral immune response to vaccines. As for cancer? Individuals who eat 18 grams of mushroomsāor about 1ā8 to 1ā4 cupādaily have a 45% lower risk of cancer compared to those who do not eat mushrooms. Medicinal mushrooms are truly remarkable for our health!" - The Forever Dog
In our new book, The Forever Dog - Surprising New Scienceš§Ŗ to help your canine companion live, YOUNGER, HEALTHIER & LONGER, we highlight the benefits of medicinal mushrooms, dosages for dogs & we give you recipes for mushroom broths & teas. Now available - ForeverDog.com

ARE LAUNDRY CHEMICALS AFFECTING YOUR PETSā SKIN & HEALTH?
If you wash your pet blankets and beds using popular fabric softeners and dryer sheets, that ājust washedā fresh smell comes from chemicals called Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that can negatively impact your petsā health (coughing, rashy, itchy pets, anyone?).
Dr. Anne Steinmannās UW-Seattle research team found more than 25 VOCs emitted from dryer vents using these products, including well-known respiratory irritants like Acetone, Formaldehyde, Acetaldehyde, but also Pentane (which causes skin rashes and upset stomach), Ethyl Acetate (on the EPAās Hazardous Waste list; causes anemia, changes in white blood cells and can damage the liver and kidneys), Benzyl Acetate (can be absorbed through the skin and is linked to pancreas problems) and Alpha-terpineol (causes headaches and nervous system disorders).
Our pets can do without having to breathe in these chemical residues or having to lay on them, so hereās our Forever Dog Tip of the day: replace chemical-laden fabric softeners with a non-toxic DIY option!
Recipe: Mix 6 cups white vinegar with 1 cup baking soda, let it fizz. When the fizz stops, pour mixture into a large glass container with a lid. Use 1 cup per load of laundry.
We highlight all of the of home chemical risks that can negatively impact your dogās health in the The Forever Dog book, available now for pre-order by clicking here: https://foreverdog.com/about/ -window
Pittie Paws had a great day filled with some cool cats and one chill chihuahua ā„ļøš¾ Thanks everyone for a great day!!

WANT TO HELP YOUR DOG LIVE LONGER? TRY THIS!šµš¶
When designing our blueprintš on how-to raise the oldest dogs in the world for our new book, The Forever Dog, we focused our research heavily on science-based longevity foods, herbs & supplements that can be added to your dogās diet. Foods that could not only help delay canine aging, but can help nourish and bullet-proofš„ your dog against disease!
No matter which longevity scientist we interviewed, the one suggestion that made every researcherās top 10 list of what to add to a dogās bowl was ācamellia sinensis,ā aka Green Tea!š
In fact, the latest study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology shows people who drink green tea at least three times a week can live longer and suffer a lower risk of cardiovascular disease!
Thatās because Green Tea is rich in polyphenols, and contains a catechin called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) which are found to help prevent cell damage, reduce inflammation and can help fight cancer while providing other health benefits, of course.
But what about dogs? Are there any studies? Shockingly, we found a bunch!
The most recent showed that Green Teašµ acts as a therapeutic agent for obesity, liver inflammation, and fat degeneration in dogs!
While many of us make juices or smoothies, most of us donāt think about using concentrated medicinal infusions in our food. But in the dog world, medicinal teas make inexpensive, polyphenol-rich toppers (āgraviesā) that infuse longevity benefits into every meal. So, it should come as no surprise that green tea has been used in pet food for quite some time, but not in quantities to confer health benefits, so why not add some at home?
All teas can be steeped as usual, then cooled off prior to adding to your dogās food. Green teas should be decaffeinated, and preferably organic.
Alternatively, add warm tea to your dogās dry food and allow the therapeutic brew to marinate with the kibble prior to feeding, creating a super-saucy gravy and adding hydration (dogs arenāt designed to eat low-moisture, dried food their whole lives; teas help!). If you feed dehydrated or freeze-dried dog food, reconstitute them prior to feeding with tea!
Recipe for Organic Decaf Green Teašµ for Petsš¾:
1.Combine 3 cups of purified water and 1 tea bag or 1 tablespoon of loose tea leavesš«
2.Steep for 15 minutes
3.Remove the tea bag or use a strainer to remove the tea leavesš
4.Store the tea in a covered, preferably glass pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days
Add the following amounts of decaf green tea to your petās morning and evening meal:
ā¢ Cats ā 1 tablespoon
ā¢ Small dogs ā 1/8th cup
ā¢ Medium dogs ā Ā¼ to Ā½ cup
ā¢ Large dogs ā Ā½ to 1 cup
This is one simple and powerful way to add longevity benefits to your dogās bowl! Looking for more ideas or recipes? Check out our new book with dozens of other suggestions in the Forever Fluids section of our book, available for pre-order now by clicking here: www.foreverdog.com/book
