Today was an emotional day. We literally had just celebrated the great news about our last rescue pup Maggie being able to keep her leg even though it was broken, meanwhile this sweetheart was on her way to us with a makeshift amputee needing emergency care 🥵 Rescue never ends! You celebrate a win and are immediately thrown another curve ball. We don’t want to constantly be negative, but holy moly it’s the rescue world we live in, it’s every single day, animals need us. We will never stop caring. We have been hit hard lately with emergencies, very hard. All in one week we’ve had a parvo puppy, a puppy with a broken leg, and now this sweetheart with a completely makeshift amputated leg 🤬 All while caring for a full house of 18 animals currently in The Stray Sanctuary, not including the 24 of our own 😳 It’s hard to keep our head above water when we are constantly knocked down. But we will continue because the animals need us. Thank you for helping us help them, because without your donations we wouldn’t be able to rescue the ones who need us most. Literally one thing after another for emergencies today 😰🥵 She was found wandering New Town with her leg literally cut off 🤬 🥵 This poor girl is currently on her way to us at The Stray Sanctuary. We have already spoken with our vet and we have surgery scheduled for first thing in the morning 😭 Absolutely unreal. Don’t worry hunny, we’ve got you from here we promise.

We have been hit hard lately with emergencies, very hard. All in one week we’ve had a parvo puppy, a puppy with a broken leg, and now this sweetheart with a completely makeshift amputated leg 🤬 All while caring for a full house of 18 animals currently in The Stray Sanctuary, not including the 24 of our own 😳

And people think owning one dog is hard 😅

People suck. It’s hard to keep our head above water when we are constantly knocked down.

But we will continue because the animals need us. Thank you for helping us help them, because without your donations we wouldn’t be able to rescue the ones who need us most.

What should we name her? And is anyone willing to help us out by fostering her so she can rest and recover in a cozy environment?

Great news for our newest rescue Maggie Rae!!!!! Her leg is broken but it doesn’t need to be amputated 🙌🏻💗🏩💝 We are so thankful for veterinary care!!! Thank you for all of the pawsitivity sent Maggie Rae’s way! 🥰🙌🏻 She is in a splint, has pain medication on board, and we will recheck her healing progress in a couple of weeks!

This dog was found on an oil site near plentywood MT this morning, we have been asked to assist but our kennels are full. Would anyone be willing to foster or possibly foster to adopt this handsome boy? He needs vet care, The Stray Sanctuary will cover his vet care costs if someone is willing to go get him and take him to the vet and foster him. The oil worker brought him to her house in Froid, MT so that is where he needs to be picked up from. Can anyone help?

JJ BEAT PARVO!!!!!!!!! Day 6 today and he ate a WHOLE PLATE OF CHICKEN! 🙌🏻 Look at those tail waggs!! Atta boy JJ!!!! JJ ATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙌🏻💙🏩🤞 Little buddy’s been fighting parvo but today was HUGE 🙌🏻💗🥰 We’ve been giving him IV fluids & syringe feeding pedialyte but today he took actual BITES OF CHICKEN!!!!!!!!! It's midnight on a Sunday but we just finished getting JJ our parvo fighting pound puppy settled in to his new hospital room 💗🏩 He's all set with fluids for the night and a comfy bed🥱😴 Goodnight sweet boy, feel better soon JJ

Home cooked meal for JJ and he still wouldn't eat it 😰🥺🤒 We will keep trying with force feeding pedialyte & IV fluids & If he doesnt eat by morning we will take him in to the emergency vet and have him hospitalized 🏩 We love you so much buddy feel better soon J, please send pawsitivity his way to start eating 🙌🏻🤞

JJ our pound parvo puppy update 🤒🥺 Poor guy still hasn’t eaten for us, but we are hoping he will start soon 🤞 Just have to keep the pawsitivity coming! Soon he will be feeling vitaminized & mineralized slowly but surely! We are here for you every step of the way JJ! Feel better soon buddy

Today we rescued a dog from the pound that wasn’t feeling well 😰 We drove him straight to the vet clinic and he tested positive for parvo 😢🥺🤒

We just got home and finished disinfecting ourselves and the entire vehicle. Thankfully everyone in The Stray Sanctuary is vaccinated, but we have him quarantined in isolation just in case.

He received fluids at the clinic, and we gave more fluids tonight at the sanctuary. He is resting comfortably, drinking water, but definitely still not feeling the best.

He hasn’t puked since the ride home, so that’s a win.

We are hoping a good safe nights sleep with fluids and antibiotics on board will have him waking up in the morning with a pep in his step. Please send pawsitive thoughts his way 🙌🏻

We have a long road ahead of us little buddy but we promise we will be right by your side every step of the way.

We went to the minot pound today & while we were there we got to meet these two very very good boys. One is a beautiful black lab and the other is a handsome black shepherd. Both were so lovey and appreciative of the attention & treats! We don’t have any kennels open at The Stray Sanctuary, but if anyone would be willing to foster to adopt we would gladly help facilitate so these good boys can find good homes instead of sitting in jail because of POS owners.

See!!!!! We told you it was urgent!! Momma got her ride to The Stray Sanctuary only 48 hours ago and she’s already giving birth!!!!!!!!! 7 little baby butts so far! We’ve named her Momma Pearl after the person who saved her! As for the kittens, this theme seemed appropriate — Cenex, Holiday, Tesoro, Kum&Go, ZipTrip, Simonson, & Sinclair. 🐾💗♥️🥰🏩 We are so thankful she is here safe in The Stray Sanctuary instead of giving birth in the gas station parking lot she was living in.

For those of you wanting “barn cats” not spayed or neutered PLEASE READ. We require mandatory spay/neuter and HERE’S WHY:

I grew up on a farm I know the need for mousers, I used to think the same, but I promise healthy spayed/neutered and vaccinated cats will do alot more mousing and live a longer healthier life than a momma who continues to have litters! The kittens die because they’re born in hard to reach places and are too hard to catch and vaccinate soon you’ll have a huge problem. It only takes one stray Tom cat to come in and eat, yes eat, and kill the kittens just to put the momma cat back into heat so he can breed her again. It only takes one diseased cat to wipe out the whole bunch. A spayed & vaccinated cat can live 15 years instead of them dying off every year and spreading disease.

URGENT — very very very pregnant cat needs a ride from Keene ND to The Stray Sanctuary in Williston/Ray. She’s currently in a kennel at the gas station waiting for her ride to us so she can safely have her babies. Can anyone help???????

We’ve been asked to help the New Town Police Department with homing this very good boy who wasn’t claimed by an owner and is currently in the pound💔 We are told he is very sweet & love’s children. Would anyone be willing to foster him until we can get him vetted vaccinated & available for adoption? Fosters have first chance at adopting once he’s ready. We are unsure of his age or his breed, but we do know he is a good boy currently sitting in jail. We promise you one thing, we care about these animals with our entire heart. Unfortunately, caring costs money. Our bank account is officially at its rock bottom at only $99.01.

This year we have spent $68,588 on building the new shelter building so far, with $87,332 still needing to be paid before it’s finished.

That doesn’t even include the money spent while operating our current shelter where we have rescued 638 animals to date, on average spending $14,000 per month.

Rescue isn’t free, it’s both mentally and financially draining. But we promise, we will never stop caring.

We will continue to move forward even if it means taking out personal debt, The Stray Sanctuary is that important.
