Michele and I took a fun day trip to see the kids today. I also delivered my son-in-law’s antelope from 2022. I think he liked it!

It’s been a long week here, but I got a few projects completed and ready to go home. This lake trout is a beautiful fish that I was asked to restore, and I will be glad to see a photo of it on a customer’s wall.

Each year I take in a few capes that have been cut too short. This is a good diagram of how to cape your deer if you are doing it yourself. If you take it to a processor, have them cape it for a shoulder mount. If you want a Euro mount Leave the cape on and I will credit you $40 dollars for the cape. Remember to wear your orange and be safe out there!

In January I was paired with this young lady, Macie Re*****on from Holden MO, In the annual youth/mentor goose hunt that is put on by the Missouri Hunting Heritage Foundation. We spent a chilly afternoon at the shooting range Saturday afternoon and then Sunday morning in the goose blind. Shortly after the sunrise this fourteen year old GIRL fired one shot and this goose fell from the sky! The pleasure was mine that day as I got to spend the morning with a next generation hunter and proud to have made a new friend!
