Dr Leonard and her whippet Brand are running tonight in the finals of the AKC Agility Invitationals. It can be viewed live on AKCTV or ESPN+. She will be the next to last 20 inch dog to run.

As usual, we will do our cost-of-living price increases at the end of the year. We still have appointments available this month if you'd like to get your pet caught up prior to the price increases. We try to keep prices reasonable, but in order to meet expenses and retain our awesome staff, we do have to keep up with inflation. Be aware we have some closures around the holidays in order to allow staff to spend time with family.

THREE stories today in a veterinary brief about rabies--a kitten died of it in a rescue with its littermates still under quarantine, a rabid coyote bit a hiker in Arizona, and a kidney transplant patient died of rabies from an undiagnosed donor. PLEASE keep your pets protected from this deadly disease. Contrary to some beliefs, it is absolutely still out there and deadly.

This weekend Brand and Doc Sandi will be competing in the AKC Agility Invitationals in Orlando, where the top five in each breed are invited to compete.
Expect roughly one minute per run average in figuring out when we might run.

I think you can pick which ring you want to watch. NOTE: these are in Eastern time. Adjust accordingly. KC friends, tune in an hour before listed times.

On Friday, Time to Beat, Brand is #82 in Ring 2, runs begin at 12:20 so he'll likely run around 1:30. Not sure Friday will be streamed.

On Saturday Round 1 JWW, Ring 3, #92, 2nd walk-through, runs are 10:45-1 p.m.
Round 2 Standard, Ring 3, dog #60, runs 4:30-6:45

On Sunday, Round 3 Hybrid, Ring 1, Dog #28, 9:45-noon so we'll be running around 10:30 .
Round 4 JWW, Ring 1, Dog # 124, runs 3:30-5:45 so we'll run quite late in that class.

IF we make finals, runs are in Ring 2 beginning at 6:25 p.m. Sunday. He is a 20" dog.

Due to increasingly bad roads and cancelations, we are closing around 3-3:30 today so staff can get home before rush hour and dark. We plan on normal hours tomorrow.

We will have a relief vet for a few days mid-December while Dr Leonard is competing in an agility event in Florida. The relief vet will not be able to do chiropractic or acupuncture, but we hope you will fill her days with annual checkups and minor health issues! Please don't decline to see the relief vet if you are offered a time on those days. We provide coverage for YOUR benefit, so your pet doesn't have to wait until Doc Sandi returns.

PLAN AHEAD! HOLIDAY AND OTHER CLOSURES!! We will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days. We may close early on the Wednesday before depending on demand. We will not plan to have a doctor available on the Friday morning following each holiday, although for a semi-urgent matter for an existing client we might be able to see a patient or two first thing in the morning. We will be CLOSED New Year's Day. Also, the doctor is taking her dog to Florida for AKC's Agility Invitationals so will leave the office early December 10 and will be out of the office until December 16. We have so far been unable to find veterinary coverage for those dates so we may not be able to do more than tech appointments during that time. Tech appointments include: nail trims, a**l glands, puppy boosters shots, kennel cough vaccines, heartworm or other blood testing, f***l examinations. We may be able to handle minor illness in communication with the doctor but only for patients otherwise current on checkups in our office.
