Louisiana Imagine No Kill We are a 501c3 RESCUE and ADVOCACY organization striving to reduce killing of shelter dogs. THEN ASK YOURSELF: What do we have to lose by trying?

There is a better way (The No Kill Equation), and no excuse for not trying like hell to eliminate the unnecessary killing of healthy and/or treatable shelter animals. The time has come for animal lovers and advocates of Louisiana to demand that the killing of healthy/treatable shelter animals STOP NOW!! IMAGINE a culture and community where shelters are places where animals are vetted, cared for,

socialized, and networked to find suitable adoptive homes; and are no longer places where animals are just numbers and statistics, and likely to be killed after a set period of time or due to color, breed, appearance or behavior. IMAGINE shelters being places where every animal stands their best chance at finding the loving home they deserve; and that all unnecessary killing is completely eliminated. THEN IMAGINE the people, partnerships, resources, programs, services, values and committment necessary to achieve our NO KILL vision. Can it get any worse than watching most, half, or even some animals killed simply due to the passage of time or need for space? OUR HEARTS ARE SADDENED TODAY with the loss of our volunteer and foster, Tony Humphreys. Tony had been out of the game recently due to health issues. But when he was active, there wasn't a dog around who didn't love him. He had a special way with his canine friends, especially the scared, scary and difficult ones that no one else dared get near. Tony just hugged them, loved them, brought them home and transformed them. Pictured here is Claude, a scary IPAC dog, who nearly got himself put down for kennel aggression at the shelter. He was saved by Tony in 2020, and went on to be adopted in NY. Fly high Tony!
You will be missed by your rescue friends, but especially by all of the Pups!
