Ace's Sanctuary and Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, here to serve the homeless cat and kitten population around Lawson/Kearney/Excelsior Springs, Missouri. That includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, dewormer, goodie bag to include a sample of the food they're eating, and Feline Leukemia/FIV test. It’s been another busy year here at Aces Sanctuary. Although we had to take a small step back this year, with our personal and work lives becoming more busy, our year end numbers still surprise me!

In light of the new year and resolutions being made we would like to ask you to consider sponsoring a cat in rescue care. Make your resolution this year to help save a life by sponsoring a kitty! The average cost to feed and provide litter for one cat in rescue for one month is $35. As you can imagine with vetting costs and the amount of cats in care things get pretty expensive. Help save a life by making a $35 donation and you’ll receive the name and picture of a cat in our care that you’ll be sponsoring. We have new paws Pet Supplies Plus - Liberty, MO! All wishing for their very own happy Furever after before 2025…

Burgundy made herself right at home, starting immediately with the biscuits!! About 2 years old and fully vetted she’s ready to make some biscuits in her own Furever home.

Twiggy and her big, begging eyes would love a home all her own. Also about 2 years old, she’s full of love and a little bit of sass for other cats. She really prefer an only cat home.

Hinkle and Surge are still patiently waiting for someone to fall in love with their adorable faces and swoop them up for their happy Furever afters!

Special holiday edition reminder of what your cats should NOT eat this holiday season!!

No one wants the holidays spoiled by a costly emergency vet visit! Extra care should be taken while cooking and eating to prevent something terrible from happening to our beloved kitty family members.
Here is a list of toxic foods your cat should NEVER eat:
❄️Alcohol
❄️Bread dough and yeast
❄️Chocolate
❄️Coffee
❄️Citrus fruit- lemon, lime, oranges, and grapefruit
❄️Coconut flesh and water
❄️Dairy-milk, yogurt and cheese most cats are lactose intolerant and dairy can cause gastro intestinal upset
❄️Grapes, raisins and nuts
❄️Raw eggs, raw and undercooked meat and fish or any bones and fat trimmings
❄️Some veggies and herbs - onions, leeks, garlic and chives or any dish containing those ingredients
❄️Xylitol - a common sweetener found in candy and gum
❄️Too much salt or foods with salt on them

Symptoms of toxicity can range from stomach upset, diarrhea and vomiting all the way to heart problems, seizures, muscle tremors and death. No one knows your pet better than you, if you suspect something is wrong, please seek help.

If you suspect your cat has ingested a toxic food, do not wait for your cat to start showing signs of distress. Call your vet right away or call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at 888-426-4435

After 182 days of quarantine, Aladdin finally gets his freedom in the kitty room!! ((Ignore the litter mess, this was before I finished cleaning and you know, we have cats 🤷🏻‍♀️))

In June Aladdin was diagnosed with FIP. With the ability of Veterinarians to be able to prescribe GS in the US now, we were able to work with our rescue vet to save his life!

-> 84 days of treatment. And bloodwork. And constant monitoring of every little sneeze… fearing the worst every time.

-> then 84 days of observation… doing nothing but watching and bloodwork every 30 days. The panic set in every little eye goop…. But his final bloodwork was great.

-> next step was to start his vaccines. Then more observation. No relapse…

-> cleared for neuter. More observation… no relapse!

Finally, 182 days later- 26 weeks - 6 months of his short little life, he is free to roam the kitty room. Our hearts are overflowing with joy for him…. Because most importantly, he’s ready to find his furever home!! It is FINALLY his turn for a happy Furever after!! Let us know if you’re interested in giving this guy his Furever home. 🐾

Meet Burgundy! She’s a 2yr old Siamese mix with a lot of judgement to pass. She gets along with other cats, but prefers a perch all her own to watch and rule her kingdom! She will chose when (or if) she’ll accept loves from her servants, as being in the same room with her should be a reward of it’s own!

Who is brave enough to offer this beauty the life she desires, the life full of judging those unworthy of her presence? 🤪

Adoption Announcement 📣

After the loss of her cat, Mittens, last year her heart has had an empty space… so Amanda reached out wanting to find her mom a baby to love and help with healing her heart again. When Amanda saw the picture of Sprout, she knew she’d be the purrfect kitty to help her mom. She patiently waited for her to be ready to go home and this weekend, it finally happened!! We can see how loved this baby is going to be!! Thank you for giving Sprout the gift of love and a furever home this Christmas!!

This beautiful longhair lady is Magenta! Shes 2 years old and kind of a loner! She loves snuggling her human friends, but can be a little picky at first! Once she trusts you, she’ll greet you with all the love.

Happy Caturday!!

Let us know if you need a cat or two for snuggle partners this winter! They make great lap warmers on these cold days- although I’m not sure Zach has quite figured it out yet! He’s about 5 months old now and would love a snuggle partner all his own to show him how to snuggle a little less awkwardly! 🤪

Oh, Mr O’Malley is such a talker! He was telling me how I was 30min late this morning with his chin rubs! He wasn’t wrong and I promised extra chin rubs as my punishment! 😹😹 I know he’s FIV+, but he is the sweetest boy! He give my boys kisses and head boops! He will get along with other cats, but should be in a home with other FIV+ cats!
