As most know by now I'm getting married in May, this means my current 3 *pending* litters will be my last until after May, so I can have that time to solely focus on my wedding and not have the extra worry about pregnant or nursing does, or have to worry about any babies. And although I haven't officially announced it yet, I do believe Wednesday, Morticia, and Cheetah are all pregnant.. The last of the 3 is due February 3rd, so I'll have April & May "off" from breeding and worrying about placing babies etc. I will make a better post about what that time frame will look like for my page when we're closer to it.✨️

Wednesdays litter is super exciting because this is my first Silvermane litter & the start of that line🥳

Once things pick back up after the wedding, I'll be starting my Dwarf line! This trio (in the pictures) will be the foundation of that. I already knew Guppy was going to be bred to Diego, but after putting some thought into it I also decided Cousin Itt would make a good match for him. She's a smaller doe which is always better when breeding to a Dwarf buck, but also because i would like some velveteen Dwarf rats at some point, so adding her in would help with that... These guys will be paired at some point in June, putting my first litter(s) being born in July after my current 3 does have their babies and I take this little break.🫶🏼

Today's SNOW❄️ adventure was fun! The boys had a blast digging around, while the girls gave it a solid 'meh'🤣 - only two of them decided to leave their hammock to see what all the fuss was about lol

This was my first time/year doing this, and I definitely recommend the experience!

Friendly reminder,

If your rat is suddenly acting out of sorts, wincing, puffing up their fur, or even acting suddenly aggressive:

They could be ill or feeling unwell.

If you hear a whooping or clicking when they breathe, this is a sign they could have an upper respiratory infection (URI).

It is a good idea to quarantine them, and have a rat savvy exotic veterinarian see them ASAP.

Know that rats can easily and quickly decline when unwell, as they frequently mask their symptoms due to their being prey animals, so it's of utmost importance to treat them for illness as soon as possible when you notice they're not well.

Keep a close eye on those precious and beloved critters, friends!
