Updates from cats we helped this year are flooding in this holiday season. One of our favorites is this video of Hermie! Rescued from the city with a hole in his head last January. He also had heart issues and required a cardiologist consult. Look at him now! He still requires daily medication but he is living the bestest life indoors. He loves the dust vacuum too! Such a silly kitty. Updates like this of cats BCIC helped warm our hearts! Happy Holidays Hermie and family!
Here is your morning smile!
This is Clementine, a tiny baby kitten who came into Blue Pearl with an injured foot. Her foot is doing much better and will be observed as she grows. She will remain in BCIC care until fixed and ready for her forever home! Special thanks to her foster mom, Shawney for taking such great care of her and capturing this special moment. ❤️
Bert is a community cat that visited many neighbors for food. He was fixed this past summer as a part of a community wide TNR efforts. Then something happened, Bert could no longer use his leg. That is when BCIC was contacted to help. Bert was seen by our friends at the Vet on Main where he is being treated for his injury. Then this happened, after 2 years roaming around the neighborhood never coming close enough to be touched... Oh, Bert! You just wanted to be loved! Well looks like there are new plans for Bert and his life ahead once he recovers! Yay Bert! ❤️ If you would like to donate towards Berts medical care please send donations to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis. We appreciate all your support!

Help for Minnie! This stray cat was urgently seen at the vet and scheduled next day spay for pyometra. This condition is life threatening if not treated in time. Thankfully we were able to line everything up with the help of Willow Creek and No Nonsense Neutering and she is recovering well. If those happy paws don't say it all! Donations are DESPERATELY needed to help with Minnie's surgery! Any amount is greatly appreciated! Berks cats in crisis PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis. Thank you for allowing us to help this sweet girl!
Today BCIC presented our 2nd Berks Community Cat Hero Award to Cole. 👏 Cole rescued the cats from Cuddles Rescue Cate Cafe at Perfect Match Pet Shop last month when the roof caught fire in the ac unit. The cats did not sustain smoke inhalation due to his quick efforts to remove the cats from the building. Thank you Cole for your bravery help in such a time of need!
Tomorrow Cole will be honored at the Reading Fightin Phil's game! Screwball was there to present this honor. Thank you for being part of this award presentation!
Diamond Credit Union also presented Cole with a Gift Card for his heroism!
Perfect Match Pet Shop will be open today until 3pm. The Cat Cafe is ready for visitors and their is a sidewalk sale. Show your love and stop by to see them!
Nevaeh had her follow up appointment yesterday with our friends at the Vet on Main. She tested negative for leuk/fiv, received shots, dewormer, flea treatment and we ran some special tests to try to figure out her wobble. She has great paw/eye coordination, does not fall over, and mostly wiggles in the rear end. Definitely neurological but not a normal sign of cerebella hyperplasia. Hoping to have more answers soon. In the meantime we are enjoying every bit of her special behaviors. Thank you for all your support of her care!
BCIC was contacted to help this little kitten found on the side of the road on the way to church yesterday. Thank you to the very kind person for stopping to help her and seeking treatment for her.
