VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
The kitties need a helper for cleaning and playtime in the Adoption Center at Holmdel Petsmart for an hour or so on Thursday mornings. The time is flexible. If you are interested or have any questions, please write to [email protected] and put VOLUNTEERING in the subject line.
Oyster is one of the little kittens currently living at the Adoption Center.

These two chonky gents are Saint & Sylvester. They are best buds, and they are in a bit of a pickle. A very persistent neighbor is threatening them, and they need to be relocated. Their feeder is a renter so there is not much she can do. She did try bringing them inside and they were miserable. They are happy outdoor feral cats, and both have been fixed. We are looking for a nice barn home for them. They are a really cute addition for the right situation. Thank you!

Well, we tried! We have this adventurous kitten Beans in foster care who keeps trying to get out of the houseā€¦ so we were trying to think of ways to provide more enrichment. But in spite of getting her used to both the stroller and the harness at home, she wasnā€™t thrilled about her ride in the park. Please share so perhaps we can find her a home with a catio, or with pet parents who might like to take her out in the garden on a harness and leash. In the meantime, she is being outfitted with an AirTag in case of an escape, and weā€™ll be watching her like a hawk and trying to keep her happy. ļæ¼As well as being adventurous and independent, Beans is also super friendly and a real snuggle bug.

Have you been tempted by the idea of fostering cats or kittens?
Our group does not have a lot of foster homes. This is partly deliberate, because each foster home requires and deserves hands-on attention and support from senior members of our team. But we ā€œsupervisorsā€ are all volunteers too, with other jobsā€¦ so we tend to run on the small side, in order to do right by every foster home and every cat.

But at this time, we are in need of a couple of new foster homes to round out our cat rescue that has been saving New Jersey cats for over 30 years!
