Once again we have decided to set up an ‘ofrenda’ or offering for the Day of the Dead to remember our pets who have passed as they cross over the rainbow bridge to visit us during this time. Everything on the ofrenda has a significant meaning. The marigold flowers are believed to entice our loved ones to come over the bridge to visit us. The candles help them light the way. Their favorite foods are placed on the tables to provide them with alement from the long journey here, water is also placed on the ofrenda to help the spirits quench their thirst. The perforated papers signifies wind and are a way for the souls to cross through to see us. There are also sculptures put out to symbolize earth and help the spirit find their way from earth to the spiritual world. Lastly, portraits of loved ones are placed to call our loved ones over to visit our altars and are considered one of the most important pieces to the ofrenda. There are more things that can be added onto altars depending on people's preferences. Some of our staff members have already placed photos of their beloved pets on the altar and if you would like you can email us or bring in a picture of your cherished pets. Or leave a remembrance in the comments of this post. We will have the ofrenda up from now till November 4th and we are looking forward to seeing your treasured pictures!

Sorry to report that our clinic had an attempted robbery early this morning. The exit door is broken so we ask that you use the entrance door this next week until it is fixed. the animals that were in the clinic at the time are safe and sound. This incident was at 2am Sunday. If you have any information please contact Red Bluff PD.

We’re reaching out and asking for some support for this sweet soul, Daniel. He was brought to us by animal control after being attacked by an animal. His body was in shock and along with several bite wounds and punctures, he had a huge abdominal hernia. He was stabilized on fluids and medication but it soon became clear that his intestines were constricted in the hernia and he needed emergency surgery. Our organization has had some extensive medical cases this year and our funds are limited but we couldn’t turn our say no to this guy. We are looking to cover about $500 of his medical cost. Well update his progress as he heals and joins a foster home
