Putnam County Animal Shelter We are the animal shelter for Putnam County, West Virginia. We have been serving the citizens of the county since 1986 as a animal control facility.

Our regular hours are Monday through Saturday 10am-4pm. We are closed all federal and state holidays. We investigate claims of animal cruelty and neglect as well as pick up stray dogs within the county. To speak to one of our humane officers please call 304-586-0249. All complaintants identities are kept confidential. Adoption fees are $35 for cats and $40 for dogs. This can be cash, check, or cre

dit and debit cards. If the animal is unsterilized at the time of adoption a refundable sterilization deposit of $50 cash or check would need to be left until the surgery is completed at one of our contracted veterinarians. Cost of sterilzation is included in the adoption fee as long as it is completed in the designated time frame.
