🕷️😳 That’s a Tick?!
Dr. Kevin snapped these photos of a deer tick in the nymph stage—and yes, they’re really that small. About the size of a poppy seed, nymph ticks are nearly impossible to see, especially on a furry pet. 👀
But don’t let their size fool you—nymph ticks can still transmit Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses in both pets and humans. They’re active in late spring and early summer, love shady and humid areas like tall grass or leaf litter, and can latch on without anyone noticing. 🐾🌿
✅ Nymph ticks can transmit diseases in as little as 24–36 hours after biting.
✅ Dogs may not show signs of Lyme for weeks to months after infection.
✅ Signs include joint pain, lethargy, fever, and decreased appetite.
