YES, YES, YES! Finally - our Harlequin lambs are arriving! Here's a ram/ewe set from about three days ago! Andrew has been super busy for months now, but these beauties attest to the fact he puts his ALL into these minis.

Not directly Harlequin related, but many of you love BOTH breeds!!

JACKPOT!!!! Lamgo Sheep announces a breakthrough - we have had twin ewes on 4/19 born to a registered Black Babydoll ram mated to a registered White Babydoll. One twin is white and the other is black with a substantial white spot on her head.

In our first year of breeding - we know how rare this is. Day by day we've been watching this spot grow and now feel confident to register her as our first spotted Babydoll.

Of course, she'll be staying here... we'll share more pics as we can.

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to take a moment to remind you about our adorable Babydoll and Harlequin mini sheep that are available for reservation. I've noticed that some of you haven't reserved yours yet, and I wanted to know why.

Here are some common reasons I've heard:

We completely understand that taking care of an animal can be a big responsibility. However, we provide all of our customers with comprehensive information on how to care for their mini sheep, and we're always available to answer any questions you may have. Plus, these little ones are incredibly friendly and easy to care for!

Our Babydoll and Harlequin mini sheep are perfect for small properties, and only require a small amount of space to live comfortably.

We understand that the cost of a mini sheep can be a concern for some people. That's why we allow you to put down a deposit now and pay the remaining balance over time, or at pickup..

Well, for starters, these little ones are in 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 compared to the number that will be available this season. By putting in a deposit now, you're securing your spot on the list and ensuring that you'll be able to bring home your new woolly friends this year. Plus, who wouldn't want to snuggle up with these adorable little sheep?

What Mini Sheep are NOT:

Despite their size, they are not TOYS. They need to be tended to and cared for like a dog or cat. They need food: hay and sometimes grain, fresh water, shelter from harsh conditions. They may also need vet care. Sheep need hooves trimmed, wool sheared, and a CDT shot every year. They also need de-worming at times.

Along the lines of toys, sheep are not "friends". They need other sheep to be their friends. Bottle babies are often confused and lonely because they don't "fit in". Nothing is sadder than a little lamb who's ignored by the others, not encouraged to play and chase.

As breeders, we do our best to help them integrate and learn to be a sheep. Please don't ask for a lamb to be pulled from its mom. It's really a horrible thing to do with lifelong consequences.

They CANNOT be "housetrained".

They SHOULD NOT be bathed regularly. Their lanolin plays an important role in keeping them healthy. They DO NOT need to be brushed.

Mini sheep are NOT goats. They don't eat everything. They are not designed to clear pastures. They are also NOT meant to be dumped in a pasture and left alone for lengthy periods of time. You need your eyes on them to ensure they are healthy.

Lastly, lambs are not playthings for kids. Being chased terrifies them. If you are going to involve kids with your flock, please take the time to teach them how to interact with them and what NOT to do. It will pay off both for the kids and the sheep.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗴𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆: 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄

The real star of the show is the Lamgo family's oldest son, Andrew. As Operations Manager of Lamgo Sheep, Andrew is in charge of every aspect of their sheep program.

Andrew has extensive experience with cattle through his dad, Phil and his grandfather Stan Harper of the famous Harper Cattle ranches with operations in TX, NM and CO.

Throughout his life, Andrew rode side by side with top cowboys tending the cattle, elk and bison on the ranches of Harper Cattle.

He's probably seen and done more by age 14 than most adults will ever see in a lifetime. With his wealth of experience and compassionate nature, it was only natural for Phil and Sandi to have complete trust in his overseeing this new endeavor.

Although you may never interact with Andrew online - be assured his watchful eye is constantly where it should be: on the sheep.

2023 is Andrew's first year of lambing, but compared to cattle - this should be a piece of cake!

WHAT'S HAPPENED???

We have been waiting for the perfect time to announce that our breeding stock now lives at Lamgo Farms in Red Oak, Texas.

Philip and Sandra Lamgo have taken the jump into miniature sheep by purchasing all of Six Wags Over Texas' breeding stock.

The Lamgos have a lifelong history with sheep, cattle, horses, and more making them the perfect choice to continue breeding our flock and enhancing both the Harlequin and Babydoll breeds.

Sandi and Phil assured us of their commitment to this new endeavor and along with their eight (yup - 8) kids, they have the knowledge, infrastructure and desire to uphold the exceptional ethics we established in 2009.

I'll be around helping them get the gist of the sheep business although they have plenty of experience with their other business as a premier breeder of mini-doodles!!

Please welcome the Lamgos into the world of mini sheep!

I am not in the habit of promoting pups, but these kids are with my fav LGD rescue - Bluebonnet Animal Rescue. There is NO NEED to buy a pup from a breeder. Here are 13 little lives that just as well MAY end up being the best guardians you have ever had.

Please adopt. Irresponsible backyard breeders are how Bluebonnet ends up with loads of unwanted pups, adolescents and proven adults. YOU can make the difference in a world that can be so cruel.

Contact the original poster (Bluebonnet Animal Rescue). The pups are fully vetted and will be SPAYED or NEUTERED before you pick them up. Be a part of the solution, don't keep funding the problem.

The power of LGD's. This morning I awoke to Ethel and Jack in the pasture laying near a dead body. What's unusual is that Ethel's job is to patrol the main pastures at night while Jack is in the fenced barnyard.

Apparently, a predator was stalking the animal and Jack decided to jump the fence to assist Ethel. Although the scared off the killer, it had hold of our little friend by the leg at the time. I think it died from shock. And although they did their best, the dogs remained near the body so that it couldn't be ravaged or carried off.

There is NO BETTER guardian for your livestock than proven dogs.
