Haugen-Hill Shires is located in southeastern MN along the Mississippi River bluffs. We show, breed, foal, and offer occasional sales of our Shires.

A Shire mentor, turned dear friend, was lost on Monday. It was Clark who I went to for my first good show filly. Clark didn’t want to particularly part with her because she was a good one, but I promised to breed and show her. Her name was Jenson Blackjack Jane. She was out of one of my favorite little mares, Hainton Janette, that Clark imported from England.

I fulfilled my promise. This mare won many purple ribbons including a National title all with Travis on the end of the lead because she and I never saw eye to eye. They made a tremendous team.&

Clark asked several times if he could buy her back. To know Clark is to love Clark. He was stubborn, very competitive and loved his horses. Fact is, he didn’t like getting beat by her and told me so! When I finally said, “yes, you can have her back” he was there in a few days all the way from Nebraska. He didn’t want me to change my mind!! ♥️

Rest in peace, friend.

This is a hard post to make, Clark Jenson passed away September 16, 2024. Our family and friends and the Shire community has lost a huge supporter.
Clark's funeral services will be held Oct. 3rd at 1 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow at the Blair Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Oct. 2nd from 6pm to 8 pm at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
Clark loved the Shire Horses, always trying to figure out the bloodlines and genetics, he traveled several times to England to import new Stallons, for new bloodlines.
He will be greatly missed

Baby Beef had a roommate for a few days while Suri was recovering from some lameness. She’s all better now, but Baby Beef sure misses her!!
